Month of May Collection of Captured Foods, Dessert and Snacks

Hello hivers! How was your day? Today I'm going to share to you some photos from my gallery which is all about the foods, dessert, fruits and snacks I had made and eaten for the month of May. I love taking pictures, and everytime I bought something, or cook something I will always document it.

First is this cake. I ordered this cake for my mother, for the mother's Day. We called it flower pot cake. Instead of buying real flowers which aren't useful so I bought a flower pot cake it feels like I'm giving flower which can be eaten. A flower and a treat!

This picture was during our picnic time with my husband's commander and troops. These are very fresh bellies of blue Marlin. This is not my first time eating this kind of fish but the last time I ate this was 4 years ago during a birthday celebration of my cousin which is a coastguard too.

This picture is locally in our dialect we called it budbud. Budbud is suman in tagalog. Some budbud can be sticky rice and cassava but this budbud is made from sweet potato. It's so soft and the smell is tempting.

This one is the fried ampalaya with egg. This is our typical breakfast. My husband like it very much but he don't like the way I cook it because I like it half cooked but he preferred over Cook. So the thing is when it is half cook I'll get mine and the other half will be over cooked so we can eat happily together. Hahaha

This one is eggplant sour salad. Steamed eggplant then dip into venigar and salt mixture with ginger and lots of onions. But in this picture there is an okra because it's the only one I harvested from my backyard garden so I include it here.

This one is fried eggplant with egg. This is my husband and kid's favorite dish for eggplant. It's easy and fast to cook.
1000006011.jpg
This picture is a sweet potato cue in very small slices. This is a snack for my kids that's why I chopped it in very tiny pieces so it's easy for then to chew, it's also fast to cook and fast to cooldown.

This one is one of my experiment recipe. This is a chayote with fried pork. I bought pork from the market and my neighbor had chayote so I bought 2 chayote but I don't know how to cook so I just try and it was a good combination. We like it very much!
1000006126.jpg
This is a fried eggplant. This is also one of my favorite. When I can't think of a good recipe I will end up frying the eggplant and dip into soy sauce. Especially when I'm so hungry, I'll prefer this one because it's fast.
1000006129.jpg
This one is also my kid's snacks. This is a sweet potato sliced like French fries and we call it sweet potato fritters. If I'm not lazy, I always have this snack for my kids. It takes time to slice each of the pieces but this one made my kid's easier to chew.
1000005890.jpg
This is the cutest watermelon I've ever had. I used to buy watermelon, the bigger one and also the yellow one but this one I was curious how it taste because I believe smaller watermelons are not good but this one it was really good. It's so red and sweet and my kids liked it very much.
1000005873.jpg
This is my favorite noodle. We called it longi, which is a combination of pancit Canton and glass noodle. This comes with pork or chicken but in this recipe I used pork and chicken in one.
1000005758.jpg
This one is a dessert we called macaroni salad made from macaroni pasta, natas, fruits and milk. This is sweet and I just bought it online. Sellers seldom posted this kind of food because this is expensive.
1000005887.jpg
This one is the chili garlic oil sauce. Every month I used to make this because it's our favorite sauce. My husband's troops also came home and ask for chili garlic in exchange of kilo chilis.
1000005774.jpg
This is our grilled pork. Pork is very expensive and we can only buy this once a month. During the past few months, we used to steamed with vegetables but this time we chose to grill it to have another taste.
1000006068.jpg
This picture, this is a viand and we called it "adobong kangkong" This is made of kangkong leaves and stalks fried with soy sauce. I can only cook this if the vegetable push cart vendor will pass our house.
1000005927.jpg
This is a lomi. It's a kind of noodle with egg and vegetables. This is good to serve while hot and onion leaves on top. This is my favorite dinner.
