It has been raining the past days.
Last night, right after cooking dinner, I went upstairs to feed my son when suddenly I heard a bang on the window.
My husband looked and saw there was a small slide in the back of our house.
We agreed that we would clean it this morning before work when suddenly, there was a thug! sound again. We looked through the window and saw a big slide against the wall of the house.
I was terrified and asked our nieces to move upstairs rather than stay on the first floor of the house.
When I went downstairs, I saw water coming in to the house already.
The landslide in the back of the house covered the canal that the water followed the drainage of our sink and entered the house.
It also made a hole in the wall of the house where water seeped in and flowed inside.
The rain and wind was strong so we really couldn't do anything but watch the water flow inside the house. Also, it would be risky to go outside to check since it is already dark and there might be more slides.
I couldn't sleep well so as soon as it was bright outside, I woke up to check on the landslide and thereafter cleaned the first floor of the house.
I hope the rain weakens because if it rains hard, water will soon start flowing inside the house again until the landslide in the back of the will have been cleared. But this will have to be done in the next few days as we need to ask for help to clear the slide.
Nonetheless, I'm thankful that we are safe and well.
In other places, they have been already been flooded and needed to be evacuated.
I hope the typhoon goes away sooner and I pray for the safety and wellness of everyone.
According to the Philippine Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the typhoon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow morning so until then, keep safe!
