It's disturbing that the US government doesn't consider the wife and kids as a group when immigrating, especially so since the kids are minors. As the weeks and months tick by I am beginning to realize it's likely my wife may have to go alone to the USA, defeating the whole purpose of this thing.
The idiocracy is unbelievable, we only wanted to go for a month or two and visit family, and five years later it now appears she'll get her visa way before her daughters do/do not get theirs. She can only hold it for 6 months without going to the USA, so ironically our family vacation idea to the USA is probably just gonna be a logistical nightmare of family separations, 'Merica!
I am optimistic about the cat because I have a few American friends here that travel back and forth with their pets and know the right paperwork and whatnot to have. I was surprised to hear the US doesn't require a rabies vaccination, although they do require a negative test result prior to flight. I will try and remain positive, her interview is right around the corner, and I suspect there is a 20% she'll pass, but likely there will be a document problem because there always is.
