Hello everyone! Wishing you all a blissful day!
Today, I’m excited to share my thoughts and emotions as I take on an intriguing question: "What Makes You Happy?" This week’s challenge, created by Justinparke in the Aseanhive Community, is something new for me—my first time participating! So, let’s dive into this journey together and discover what true happiness means.
What is happiness, anyway? Have you ever paused to ask yourself, Am I truly happy with my life right now? Am I content, satisfied, and grateful for where I am today?
For me, true happiness is best appreciated when we choose to humble ourselves, show kindness, and cherish what we already have. It’s about living in the present, making the most of every moment, and spending our precious time with the people who bring us genuine joy.
Today, I want to share my happiness with you—the simple moments that remind me to be content and find joy in each day. But before I dive in, let me give you a little background about myself, so you can better understand my journey.
I am a woman who carries the responsibility of being the family’s breadwinner. I never expected to become a wanderer in my own story, but out of necessity, I found myself navigating life on my own—standing alone, exploring unfamiliar paths, and working hard. Not for myself alone, but for my family as well. My journey has taken me to different places, shaping me into an independent person who learned to survive through the skills and knowledge that God has blessed me with
And now, let’s get started!
First and foremost, family plays a vital role in our lives, shaping who we are. Since 2020, when I became a working student living far from home, I began to truly understand and appreciate the importance of family. That chapter of my life—especially during the COVID era—taught me to value them even more. Looking back, I realize I was once a stubborn and rebellious daughter, but distance and experience changed my perspective.
One of the things that makes me happiest is spending special moments with my family. I cherish every single day with them. Whenever I’m away, I miss my two brothers the most, so when I return home, I make sure to shower them with love—cuddling them, bringing their favorite food, and making up for lost time.
After the pandemic ended, I returned home as my parents needed me to help with household chores, guide my siblings, and support them in any way I could. Then, in 2021, a life-changing moment happened—I received Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord. That was the beginning of a beautiful journey, as God called me to serve Him by teaching children in Sunday school. This also led me to become involved in the TGJ class, which I previously shared in one of my blogs.
That was the turning point when my heart grew closer to children. Over time, the church members recognized my potential in handling kids, and soon, it became natural for them to approach me—not just as a teacher but also as a playmate. It brings me so much joy to see their genuine smiles, and knowing that I can be a part of their happiness fills my heart with satisfaction. As you can see in the picture, it’s not just one child or a small group—it’s many of them! And each of their smiles brings warmth and purpose to my life.
Let me share a special moment from one of my teaching experiences with the kids. We were learning about the Parting of the Red Sea, a powerful story of how Moses, guided by God’s power, led the Israelites to safety. It was such a heartwarming and fulfilling experience to see the kids engaged, eager to learn, and expressing their creativity in their own unique ways.
Watching them brought back memories of my own childhood—it was like reliving those innocent and joyful moments. Seeing their enthusiasm and excitement reminded me of how amazing it is to be a child, full of wonder and curiosity. Truly, it’s a blessing to be part of their journey, just as they are now a part of mine.
Now, we’re getting to the most exciting part—what truly makes me happy on a personal level.
As I’ve mentioned before, I love being surrounded by nature. One of my greatest joys is traveling and exploring beyond my comfort zone. There’s something so freeing about stepping into the great outdoors, where I can embrace peace, relaxation, and quiet meditation. In those moments, I can let my mind wander without distractions, fully immersing myself in the beauty of God’s creation.
I am truly blessed for every opportunity He has given me to witness His amazing works. But beyond the breathtaking landscapes, this journey has also led me to something just as precious—a circle of friends who have become like family. For that, I will always be grateful. It’s a feeling so wonderful, so incomparable, that no material thing in this world could ever replace it.
Last but certainly not least—my daily routine: walking or jogging. This is one of the simplest yet most fulfilling sources of happiness for me.
Now, I want you to imagine this: you’re on a peaceful walk—no cellphone, no gadgets, nothing to distract you. It’s just you, the fresh air, and the beauty of your surroundings. You take each step mindfully, appreciating the world around you, and in that moment, everything feels calm and refreshing.
After a 30-minute or even an hour-long walk, the feeling is absolutely worth it. Personally, when I return home, I can feel my body fully relaxed, recharged, and ready to take on the rest of the day. In short, I feel fully refreshed—physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s a simple routine, yet one that’s truly worth fighting for.
Happiness isn’t found in grand gestures or material possessions—it’s in the simple yet meaningful moments of life. Whether it’s cherishing time with family, serving others, exploring nature, or embracing daily routines like walking, true joy comes from gratitude and contentment. Through faith, love, and the beauty of God’s creation, I’ve discovered that happiness is not just about what we have, but how we appreciate the blessings around us. In the end, happiness is a choice—a mindset of finding joy in every step of the journey.
That’s all, thanks for stopping by everyone, appreciated! Til’ next time 😊
