After a year of being inactive on Hive, I find myself wondering where to begin. So much has happened, and there are countless journeys I’d love to share. One, in particular, stands out—an experience that was truly an answered prayer.
It all started online. Many of my classmates and Facebook friends had posted about a beautiful place they visited, describing it as cool, refreshing, and relaxing. Their photos and stories piqued my interest, and I soon discovered that this place was...
Look at how happy I am—finally here after months of waiting for this moment!
Can-umantad Falls—regarded as the tallest waterfall in the entire province of Bohol.
As stated by the Bohol Island GeoPark, Can-umantad Falls, located in Barangay Cadapdapan, Candijay, Bohol, stands 60 meters high, with its cascading waters originating from the Cadapdapan River.
The waterfall flows over a backdrop of horizontal to slightly dipping beds of calcareous and tuffaceous sediments, which are part of a clastic member of the Carmen Formation. These rock formations date back to the Middle Miocene period (approximately 16 to 11 million years ago), making the site not only a natural wonder but also a significant geological landmark.
Seeing those posts stirred something in me. I prayed and asked God that, at the right time, I would also have the opportunity to visit this breathtaking place.
And then, the day finally arrived!
Looking back, I still feel in awe of how things fell into place. It was during our vacation last year, right after I graduated from Senior High School. A small group of friends and I, formed in the most unexpected way, decided to plan a trip to Can-umantad Falls. Through our group chat, we discussed preparations—setting aside money, packing food, and getting ready for the adventure.
The excitement kept me awake, and by the time morning came, I was up early, eagerly waiting. We needed a ride, so I was grateful when a friend agreed to join us and drive his motorcycle. At around 3 PM, we set off, and after an hour-long ride, we finally arrived.
As I stood there, surrounded by the beauty of nature, I couldn’t help but whisper, Thank you, Lord. This was it—the moment I had prayed for. Seeing one of God’s magnificent creations with my own eyes was a humbling and joyful experience.
I was there and glad that we were able to seize the remaining minutes before it closed. We arrived around 4:30 PM, took pictures for a few minutes, and only had about 10 to 15 minutes to swim. No worries, though, since the water wasn’t that deep. The only downside was that it was very cold—I guess because it was already close to 5 PM
Here we are, enjoying this very moment in this natural pool where the water overflows. It was an amazing experience filled with laughter, jokes, and incredibly golden memories. It’s quite slippery too, so extra caution is a must!
The four of us—nothing less, nothing more! It was a fantastic and truly unforgettable bonding experience. Even though this classmate and I weren’t very close, an unexpected friendship still formed, making the moment even more special
Words can hardly describe what I feel, but my heart is filled with joy, satisfaction, and awe at this precious moment. It's one of those rare experiences that leave a lasting mark, reminding me how beautiful and unexpected life can be.
Just as we were about to leave and head home, a group picture happened—one last snapshot to capture the joy, laughter, and memories we shared. It was the perfect way to end such a wonderful experience, sealing the moment in time.
This experience was truly worth the wait—every moment filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Though the time was short, the happiness it brought will last a lifetime. Until the next adventure!
