A trip back home to Iligan City❤️

Today, I am filled with excitement as we travel to the place where I was born - Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, also known as the “Land of Waterfalls.”
It has been eight years since I last visited the place. The last time I was there was in 2016, when my grandmother was sick, and I was the one who took care of her.

My decision to come with my mom and sister was quite sudden. I didn’t know they had plans to visit Iligan, but the moment I found out, I immediately decided to join them. Lately, I’ve been dealing with a lot of things, so I wanted to take this trip as an opportunity to relax, enjoy, and give myself some space. Coincidentally, the city is also celebrating its annual fiesta, the Diyandi Festival. There will be many exciting activities, and I’m really looking forward to bonding with my relatives here.

Traveling from our place to Iligan takes around three hours. We left in the evening at 6 p.m. since we had many things to do earlier in the day. We first rode a bus going to the city where we could transfer to another bus bound for Iligan. Upon arriving in the city, we felt hungry-it was already around 7:30 p.m.-so we decided to have dinner at Jollibee, which was conveniently located at the terminal.

After dinner, we rode a multicab to the main terminal, where all the buses going to Iligan City are parked. It only took about 15 minutes to get there. Once we arrived, we immediately looked for a bus heading to Iligan, and soon we were seated comfortably, ready for the three-hour ride. I spent most of the trip listening to music and gazing out the window, enjoying the passing scenery.

When we finally arrived at my aunt’s house in Iligan City, it was already quite late-around 11 p.m. I was very sleepy, so I went straight to bed, while my sister stayed up to do some hair services for my aunt and cousin.

That’s all for today’s update. I’ll share more next time when we go out to enjoy the city’s festival activities.
Thank you for stopping by!
