Greetings everyone, I have a vacant time today but I keep myself always busy by planting my new orchids collections. Since when the pandemic explode, I keep myself busy by planting ornamental plants and flowers the time when our Government told us to keep staying at home. Until now, when the endemic situations, I always keep planting and collecting those ornamental and flowering plants. Today, The first thing I did is to search a big branch of Madre de Cacao for my orchids, this the best branches use in this kind of ornamental plants.
This is the Madre De Cacao branches I cut while ago and I decided to cut it in exact measures particularly those matured branches. In this kind of branches, almost 8 pieces of Orchids can be put in here and it must be tied enough so that it wont fall to the Ground. I found this at the mountainous areas and it takes a long walk before I reach and found this big branch. Searching this tree was very challenging to me, addens in the muddy road trail and vast grasses. I carefully cut this and observe the place first to see if there are dangerous animals and insects just like wasps and snakes.
After I Cut those branches, I dug a hole in exact depth so that the branch will not leaning everytime when the soil gets moist due to heavy rains happens. So I dug a hole at exactly depth, I search for the best spot were I will put my Branch as a post for my Orchids. Good thing while I'm digging, it was very easy to me because the soil was very moist and very sandy. I carefully removed the dirt from the hole and placed it near so that I can easily get and filled the hole again.
This are the materials that I used for planting an orchids. Stones, used to keep the foundation intact and wont leaning, I put this in the hole after the branch put in the hole. The stones will be put beside of the branches.
Next is the yarn, used for tying my Orchids plants. Some plant takers used a fine clothed but I decided to use this colorful yarn.
Next is this coconut husks, this is very perfect for orchids and denrow plants. Coconut husks is also serve as an organic fertilizer when this will be rotten and it wont easily dried because it absorbs lots of water.
With the help of my Partner, she tied the orchids using a yarn very well so that it wont fall.
First, she wrapped and covered using coconut husks and gently tied in the Madre Cacao tree. After that, I watered it gently and checked those newly tied orchid if it is perfectly place in the branches. This kind of plants will become stabled after a few days and it should be watered 3x a week.
After that, I also noticed that the roots of my bonsai balete tree was already at the ground. I cut those roots and tied near at the branch and stems so the the stones will be covered with roots. This bonsai tree of mine is already grows 5 years already, and I put it in a giant clam shells to make it attractive and presentable.
After my Ornamental plants activities, I hurriedly went to the store to buy something to eat. I seen this cart or wagon near at the Barangay road. This kind of thing is very important to all farmers, they loaded their goods in here so that they can transport more goods and crops to other places using a carabao or a cow. This is what I am doing this morning, and it helps our place to become fascinating because of the colorful flowers and ornamental plants I put at the yard.
