Hello, hivers. I'm here with another update on our visit to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and the Maeklong Railway Market. This tour seemed to be highly popular. I checked the Klook App for prices and found one that was reasonable. I booked a tour three days before our flight.
These two attractions are popular among tourists like us; I watched YouTube and was quite excited, and it was a new experience for me. Floating markets are not common in the Philippines, so experiencing them on this trip is a blessing. We received an email confirmation for the meet-up venue, Hug Thai Zone at Central World (CTW), and we must arrive at least 15 to 20 minutes before the stated start time. We arrived 40 minutes earlier than planned because we are early birds. We booked a cab, which I suppose was a mistake because it's only 10 minutes away and about a 15-20 minute walk from our hotel. While we wait for the other, they provide us water, which is included in the package. Because we hadn't eaten breakfast and had only had coffee, there is a store nearby where we were able to purchase some food because we were hungry.
After breakfast, we headed to the car that would take us on the entire journey. Our tour guide spoke three languages, which was fantastic because we could understand her. Since we woke up early, we dozed off on the way to the first destination, the floating market, which was an hour and thirty minutes outside the city. While we were traveling, we were thrilled. So far, the road structure is good, and the road and its surroundings are very appealing. When we arrived at the floating market, we had to wait and rest for 10 minutes before we begin our journey, they are kind to offered us some drinks and bananas, which were very wonderful. So, with eight of us, there are only five passengers in one boat 4 tourists, plus the guy who would drive us somewhere and show us around.
We were cautioned that while on the boat, we must not touch the water and ignore any creatures that we may encounter. The first few blocks were entirely residential, with only a few establishments selling beverages. In the midst of the attraction were packed with people selling souvenirs and food, including the most famous Mango Sticky Rice.
We had roughly 45 minutes to explore the area around us. We have the choice of eating while we use the time allotted to us, and they took photos of us before we left the floating market, which we can choose to buy or not. We had a few extra minutes and spent them checking out the souvenirs we could bring. I was able to get three bags, two clothes, a wallet, and even ref magnets and key chains. The pricing may differ in the night market, but according to my friend, there are just a few differences.
It was a really pleasant experience, and the friendliness and welcoming atmosphere of the people around me are something I liked about the tour. I'll be back with another blog post that is part of this tour package.
