Now that I've made decent progress on my medicinal plant garden, I can tell you about it.
Last year, as I told you, wasn't the year of the garden. My pets destroyed it. So, in 2025, I wanted to try again.
I've used various techniques to keep it away from the plants. And so far, it's worked very well with the medicinal plants.

A Surviving Lemongrass
Lemongrass, known in Venezuela as "molojillo" or "citronella," is a plant that helps reduce fever, aids digestion, and can also be used as an insect repellent.
At home, it disappeared because it's very attractive to cats and dogs, who tend to eat it.
So, I recently got one, which you can see in the photo, and I take great care of it.
At night, it's inside the house, and during the day, it's in the garden under the sun. Since it's a plant that needs sun, I have to leave it outside to get it.
But I'm always on the lookout. I placed it on a slightly raised cement block, so the dog can't bite it, and the cats have to jump to bite it. Something they can't do because I'm always watching it. I can see it from my desk where I work, the perfect place to keep my lemongrass plant alive.

Year 2024 | Year 2025 |
Do you see the change?

A bushy acetaminophen plant
Last year, it was a small stem I planted in a hanging basket. Now it's a bushy, larger plant.
It's already spreading toward the ground, so I don't know whether to let it grow wild or control it a bit. I think I'll wait a little longer to decide. I want to see the turtles and cats; I want to know how well they get along with this plant. If they don't harm it, I'll let it grow. Otherwise, I'll have to prune it and plant several stems in different places to preserve it.

Oregano is a rebel without a cause
This lady is a bit difficult. I couldn't find a plant for her to take a stem from. The one in the yard started to dry up until Mom told me to take action.
The main reason is that everyone has their own plants, and we're all a little jealous about their care.
Mom also gave me a stem of this plant to plant. Now it's beautiful, with very large leaves and a good stem.
I want to wait for it to branch out a little more to plant more stems and have more in the garden.
I'm documenting all of this on YouTube
I documented when I planted all these plants, but before uploading a vlog about their progress, I wanted to write about it on Hive first.
Maybe I'll also make a video on how to care for each one because it's really interesting and not as simple as it seems.
Now I hope to go for more...
I've already proven that I can have a medicinal herb garden. Now I want to create one with vegetables and other plants, as well as edible herbs.
I know it won't be an easy task, but I'm going to try. Wish me luck. 🍀
