Happy Labor Day, everyone!
Today something surprised me and filled me with joy: The fruits of my labor in the garden.
At the moment, I don't have any food to harvest, only my turmeric plant, which is doing very well, and I hope to give you positive updates about my experience.
What I have most are ornamental plants, which, although they can't be eaten, give me great satisfaction, just like this morning.
I went out to the yard to sweep the leaves to place under the tree trunks. On my way back, I saw a small orange dot on the dwarf aloe vera plants.

It had a flower, a flower!
This plant is about the same age as my oldest cat, 5 years old, and so far, I've been able to see one of its flowers.
I've been taking very good care of it, even saving it from some disasters caused by my pets.
Its origin in our home dates back to my grandmother's house. I had them in a small plastic ice cream cup; there were so many growing there, but they were very dry and didn't look good.
I took one of them to see if I could restore it. To my surprise, it soon became a beautiful, very green little plant.
From that moment on, it never stopped growing.
And through all these years, a single plant has given me several offspring. I lost some during the rainy season, because the rains in Venezuela can be very intense (approximately in the months of June and July).
However, I was able to keep most of them alive and rescue those affected by humidity, because this succulent is very sensitive to overwatering, so it's best to water it only when the soil dries out. Also, protect it from the cold or the rain.
With good care, it will thank you with many more little plants like it. And if you care for it diligently for years, it will give you these beautiful flowers.

Honestly, I feel in love. This is one of the things I love about plants and I won't stop saying it. They are simply beautiful.

But, this isn't the only thing that has been a beautiful thing today
Several flowers also bloomed on my "beautiful at eleven" plants.
These were the first ones I saw when I woke up, and my expression was: wow.

Since I started the internship, I get home late; by then these flowers are already closed and I can't see them.
So I can tell you that, as a plant lover, it feels incredible, in the same way as seeing the ocean for the first time.

I can't talk about flowers without including them all
I don't have that many flowers yet, but I do have my beautiful "bellflowers," whose scientific name is "Asystasia gangetica." I affectionately call them "Anastasia," mainly because of their shape; they look like the skirt of a dress, and their name reminds me of that beautiful movie.
They are under the shade of the trees, giving them light with their white color and attracting attention.
I had to add some dried leaves from the trees to them, partly as support and partly as fertilizer.
All my flowers are fertilized from time to time. I use aloe vera for this, and that's how I keep them. Now that they're all blooming, I add a little diluted in water. This will keep the plants blooming beautifully.
I hope to bring you more surprises and news from my garden soon.
