Gardening is is one of best kind of hobbies in life and it helps us to have lots of healthy foods to eat. But there is alsona great challenge we faced that needs to be take cared.

This is truly my Garden journal, last day we experienced a heavy rain here in the Province and it takes 4 hours of heavy rain. It was night already that is why I can't see and visit my garden whats going on and suddenly great flood followed after the heavy rain. I felt very worried about my vegetables and my Garden as well. Early in the morning I decided to went to my Garden if not still reached by flood and I was very shocked to see that my garden was reached and some of my vegetables are washed just like my Muringga leaves. I felt very worried, this squash of mine I've planted was submerged of the floody water and luckily it wont washed away but the leaves are covered with dry mud. I gently removed the mud sticking to the leaves but I still not cultivate the soil because of the Mud.

My Garden is near at the river My Husband and I were decided to to make a garden near at the place so it can easily fetched lots of water and aside of that the soil is very fertile. Well, reaching by flood is already in my mind because it is near at the river and it kinf of very sad feelings but I accepted the facts.

My plastic pots are washed away and this is the only one left but the plants inside of this plastic pot Was already withered. Almost 10 plastic pots contain with newly planted spring onions and Lemon Grass has been washed out and some of it are already covered by mud. The entire place here in my Garden are covering with mud and some of my vegetables are washed out. The best thing I did was to get those pots left and decided to filled with soil again, I must need to look for any lemon-grass and spring onions to replace the empty pot.

Luckily my bamboo frame structure for my vine plants wont destroyed by flood but is is leaning to the ground. Wet muds coveres the place and some of the vine vegetables I have was been removed from the frame I made last day. I carefully mend the bamboo frame and put lots of stones near at the post so it wont lean again. I carefully removed those dry mud to the leaves and started to put back those vines in the bamboo frame.

I've planted lots of young String beans plants here but now, it is completely vanished and washed out covering this thick mud. The place is completely covered with mud and not even a single young string beans plant left. I can't removed this mud because it is still very wet and the best thing I am going to do is to wait to dry before removing it.

There are also string beans plants I planted in other place but it is also reached by flood. The bamboo frame I made washed away and I decided to looked for another bamboo and make a vine post again. The leaves of my string beans vegetables are also covered by mud and I also carefully removed it. It takes time to remove those mud and to mend those structure destroyed by flood. This is truly a great challenge for me and to my Garden but I still keep pursuing myself to do gardening here near at the river.

My Cassava crops section is also affected by flood. Some of my young cassava plants are reached by flood and the ground is covered by mud. Luckily the cassava crops still intact and nothing even a single one washed out. As I observed my plants can still survived in the great flood happens here. I still have my positive mind to achieved the good fruit of result. Until next post, have a nice day to everyone.

Ah that must be a difficult thing - you need hte river water for the crops, but a flood could wash it away at any moment! I wonder what the solution is, a pump I guess. Where do you live?

There is a water pump in here but it is far enough from our place, we lived here in the Province of Mindanao Philippines, a place were big bodies of water can found. Yes @gardenhive crops really needs water but when it comes to flooded, that is also not good for it. 😊
