So, we have a new plants growing in our yard, I said NEW because Mama thought it is a different plant but as I see it, it is just a squash. But then she said it is not a squash because of the flowers. I disagreed because as I see it, it is really a squash. Neither of us accept defeat so we had a healthy argument just because of it. Lol. I find it funny though but at the same time i'm already getting annoyed, hahaha. I think we had the same argument before, because of squash, haha. Its hard to really distinguish squash from other gourd plants because it looks different but at the same time it is just right. So anyway, to end the discussion, I decided to look at it on google using google lens.

And here's the reason of the argument, the "squash" as I guess it. But for Mama it is just a weed. But surely it is not, what's your guess guys?

Here's the leaves and the vines. No matter how much I look at it, it's really a squash no?

Wait, i'm realizing something right now. The flowers. It's kinda different from squash. Oh gosh, I think i'm the wrong one here. ⊙.☉

Let me check my gallery a bit...

And seriously, what are you?

But kidding aside, after searching via google lens, this is the result it gave to me.

The image shows the yellow flower of a plant in the family Cucurbitaceae, which includes gourds, squashes, and cucumbers. Based on the appearance, it is likely a flower from a luffa plant, also known as sponge gourd or loofah. Meaning, it is a Patola. [Src]

So I share this info to my Mama but she still won't believe me. Haha. She knows the leaves and flowers of Patola and this ones different. But well, whatever, this is a Patola for me. The end. Lol

Let's talk about something else now. It's about the Makabuhay plant we have. From a small seedlings, its now has more leaves in it. And they are growing really fast, thanks to the rain, I think. When I share this the other week, there's just one of them, now we have a lot. Mama's really determined to let it grow in there m, she also said it's like a pangontra or something sa aswang. Seriously (≧▽≦)

By the way, here's the two curious cats while i'm looking around the garden. They are always curious, seriously.

Let me also share this old tomatoes here that is not bearing any fruit yet, just flowers. Maybe the problem is really the soil where it is planted. We have a lot if this surrounding the other side of our yard but most of them just bloom flowers but no fruits. Still, we're optimistic that they will also bear some fruits soon. We just have to wait.

Whenever I am arguing with my mom, I just pull up a google lens and showed her. That usually fixed the problem. It's so interesting that you're tending your garden like that, love that!

Haha, google lens really us useful no, lol. I showed the info to her but she's still in doubt 😂.

I think it is squash too, we grow it in our garden, and do you know that there is a male and female squash flower? and you have to bind them together, so the female flower can turn into a squash, hahaha, I have just learned that from our neighbor, I kept on waiting for the Squash to grow, and my neighbor told me, that you have to do that, Lol.

Oh yeah, I know there is, Mama had to bind them together para mamunga. If its me, i won't do that coz I didn't know. But mama knows it. Haha. We still need more knowledge about gardening talaga no.

True, but the good thing is, we are always willing to learn 😅

This was such a fun and relatable story. I love how you and your mama turned a simple garden mystery into a funny little debate. Gardening really does bring out the best conversations just like me and my aunt sometimes

Haha, yeah, you also had this kind of bonding with you fam? It's fun but annoying too sometimes haha. Gardening really us awesome!

yes with my aunt,it's annoying but now that she's gone, i really miss it sometimes haha

Haha this post really made me smile 😁 I can totally relate to that kind of “healthy argument” with our moms, specially when it comes to plants. Somehow, they always have this strong confidence when identifying them, even if google lens already confirmed otherwise, lol!

Hahaha, sometimes it made our day a lot better no. And yeah, coz they know, they are always confident. Sana all nalang, lol

Wala akong alam pgdating SA MgA tanim😬. Kung may Bunga na saka KO malalaman Kung ano😁
