Mama's garden really is so helpful to us, if we can't buy vegetables in the market because it's expensive she'll just harvest some in the garden. It's mostly just Malunggay, Sweet Potato Leaves and Alugbati, but these tree are healthiest too, they're green leafy vegetables. One tie of sweet potato leaves in the market is already 10 pesos while alugbati is 15 pesos. We always buy two tie of each so imagine how much we can save. Having even a few of them in the yard can make a big difference ♪┌|∵|┘♪

So, yesterday, Mama asked me if I want vegetable dish for lunch. She asked in the right moment because I am too lazy to go outside yesterday, I didn't visit the market yesterday because I am also not feeling well. So I said I want some when Mama asked me. We actually have sauteed chayote with chicken at home but the taste is too bland. It's for Mommy F, but I cooked a lot. In my head i'll just eat it even if its too bland. But after hearing Mama that she cooked vegetable dish, I got excited coz finally, I can eat something else that is not bland. Lol

What she made yesterday is a simple Paksiw na Gabi or Taro. It's sour because it has vinegar, and I am just craving for this kind of dish. I couldn't take a photo of the dish but it was harvested in the backyard.

Seriously, they are growing so fast. They are still small the last time I check but now they can be harvested as well. Ah, Mama only cook it's leaves and the stems, but not it's root yet.

And next to the Taro plant was this chili in full bloom of red. Look how much chili it has now. Mama's not sure yet what to do with them. But she might make a special dip with vinegar, ginger, pepper and garlic with these. We can use that to dip any fried or dried dish, like fried fish or smoked fish. They're the best with that special vinegar dip.

Anyways, this is how it is when you have a small garden at home. In times of need, you can always rely on what you have in your yard.

What we have in our yard is still small, there's not much in it but it can surely save one hungry stomach. UwU. And they are always healthy especially it was from our own yard.

Ahhhh, let me also share this one, we don't have coconut tree anymore but there's a lot in our neighbor. And there are times that they just fall in the small stream in our backyard so Mama will pick them up. I mean, who will if she didn't do that?. It's not like there are people who watch this area here. So yeah, thanks to those trees we have a source of coconut as well, you know, coconut milk is really good in me dishes. UwU
