Hello and welcome back to my blog!
The more I explore the world of Elden Ring, the more mysterious it gets. I was in the Liurnia of the Lakes region and saw a massive four-legged thing jumping; it was carrying an entire building on its top, and the legs were made out of stone.
It reminds me of that giant titan, Cronos, from God of War carrying an entire temple on its back lol. The difference being this one seemed to be made out of rocks and stone. I found no way to enter it.
A giant bell hung from its belly and seemed important. Hitting the legs with swords does nothing to it. I even tried jumping from that wind launcher found near it, but I couldn't reach the top. It seemed like an invisible wall was stopping me from jumping on it.
I tried for some more time and gave up on it. A problem for another day, I guess. I found another finger reader, these creep me out. Always begging me to show my hands. They have a nasty fetish lol.
Moving north, I reached the Grand Lift of Dectus, but there were no levers or buttons to press. Not sure how it was a lift either. That was a massive building with two statues guarding it. I thought it would be a dual boss fight, but nope. They were indeed statues.
That's two things that I couldn't figure out in a row. Told you that it gets more mysterious as I progress.
One of the things that I love finding is the Churches. They are the best! Gives you things like Sacred tears, cool items or sometimes merchants or other NPCs. These sacred tears alone are so worth it. They help me increase my number of flasks.
I found another merchant who was selling me a tree branch with the unique property of temporarily converting an enemy to an ally. He just had 5 of them in stock, though, so I am not going to use them for now.
It was time to change the region and teleport to another place. I decide to go to Caelid, which is filled with rotting corpses and red-hued skies and terrain. Cool place to look at, but much more challenging as well.
And guess who I found there? Another FINGER READER!! Demanding more hands to be shown XD.
This time she was a little less cryptic with her message and told me to decide where I want to go, to the festival or the flowers. There seems to be a festival towards the south.
I hate these huge crows in this region. They were killing me in one hit at that point. I tried fighting some of them initially, but realised quickly that it is not worth the effort.
There was a deep ravine in the region. I tried to look for an entry into it for half an hour, but couldn't find it. It is too deep, so you cannot drop down and if you come from the other side into it. There is a point which is too high to jump. Not sure how to access that place. I tried to look for a cave or something that might lead me there, but nope.
There is a deadly rotting swamp in this region called the Swamp of Aeonia, and this thing was quite tough. The scarlet rot status effect it gives when you walk over that swamp is pretty nasty. I hate that negative status effect. But the view was nice, especially the rocky skull in the distance.
Just next to the swamp is a region called Dragonbarrow, which has a tall tower on one of the edges. It seems like you cannot reach there, but a conveniently grown root can help you get there.
This tower is so huge that even on the exterior, enemies are camping lol. I found a Stonesword key there as well. But couldn't find a way to drop down safely.
I soon realised why this place is named like that...it was filled with dragons! Many dragons are chilling here. Looks like a breeding ground for them.
I tried to take down one of them, but the problem was that there were two together. Taking on even one was tough enough, but trying to kill two at the same time? It seemed almost impossible to me at that point.
They were not as big as the other dragons I had seen so far, but they still hit hard and killed me in one good slash. Had to try a few times until they made me quit the game lol.
I will be skipping them like many other enemies that I have skipped so far. If it is not a boss, it need not be killed lol. I might have to grind for more levels and level up my health, I seemed to ignore it for a while.
So far, there have been a lot of unanswered questions and many things that I promised to come back to once I get stronger. Also, I am just randomly wandering here and there without any proper guidance on where I should head.
