there are a few games that freak me out a bit too, because of the depth of the water. especially if i'm playing a first person game. but in this game i had no issue at all - maybe because we play in a boat! you should try it at least! conquer those fears! :)
if you sail at night you get chased by things, that's why I don't dare hahaha
have you played other games where you get chased by things? i'm just curious for comparison because the few "chases" in this game are easy avoidable, and the more you upgrade your boat the easier it is to outrun them. the chases aren't that stressful anyway. they're more like an annoyance, when you just want to fish in peace haha
