Splinterlands is offer a battle scene where you can watch how the battle goes, but there is also a skip button for those who want to jump into the result. Sometimes, you might get surprise cause the result is different than what you think, and it's a great option to watch the battle whenever you lose so you can learn new things about how to beat your own strategy !

Retaliate is a Great Partner for Poison Summoner

Until the match, I always think that the summoner with poison effect is not having so great effect beside it's promo status which will give us reward percentage addition. But I just learn with some ability of monsters, the poison could have a massive effect improvement.

Poison is an ability which can cause the enemies taking 2 direct damage into it's health point after each round as long as the poison is still active (they can get erased by cleanse and could not effect monsters with immune status). This mean in time, your enemies will keep taking damage until they are cured or eliminated. A great way to help eliminate the enemies, especially if they have high armor and/or void armor, cause the poison is strike directly to their health even with those void armor.

Scattershot is the ability which I think could effectively spread the poison, cause the poison can't stacked, which mean same target can only get 1 poison, so spreading the poison into all enemies could help to max out the poison effect. But the problem is scattershot would randomly pick the target, so there is no guarantee that you can spread them or just keep hitting a single target by the chance.

Meanwhile, I just realize after a battle, that retaliate ability, which makes a monster have a 50% chance to do a counter attack (with their own attack) into every enemies that hit them, could be a great way to spread the poison as well. The more enemies that aim the monsters with retaliate, the higher chance for them to spread the poison !

Corrupted Healing is Very Usefull on Equal Ruleset

Here is the second things I've just learned. Corrupted healing is very usefull on equal ruleset battle ! This is because all enemies would likely to have high health points cause they will follow the highest health points of a monster in the battlefield, and the corrupted healing is restore 70% of max health to hurted allied units Each round !
And the best thing about this ability is it's effect is given to very allied ! This is different with triage or tank heal which can only target 1 unit, and 70% is a great ammount which could help an almost dead units into high enough health points again to survive another round ! But there is negative effect of this ability. Each time a unit is healed, its max health is reduced by 1, so the heal ammount would reduce as well after each round a monster is getting healed.

Battle Example

Now. I will give you a battle example of how those strategy is used on the battlefield.

Ruleset and formation:

Beside the equal health, there is also melee mayhem and the armor addition ruleset.
I tried to combine the melee with magic, meanwhile, my enemies also doing the same, but he got the monsters with very high armor on front 2, and taking the advantage of equal health to fix those monsters low health.

How the Battle Goes

At first round, I manage to land some damage to enemies tank, but those corrupted healing is get back that tank HP into almost full again ! Meanwhile, my team already got the tank hurt a lot with poison effect ready to give damage, and so the melee monster on the back due to getting hit by the retaliate of the tank.

On 2nd round, I lost another front monster after getting spammed by the enemies. Meanwhile, their tank is still alive after getting another corrupted healing !

Finally I manage to eliminate the enemies tank, but here comes another tough tank on the front of enemies team. Meanwhile, my tank left with just 4 health point and going to get poisoned soon !

On the 4th round, I lost my front monsters, any my last melee monster is almost eliminate as well (he will eliminated soon as the poison is ready to take action). Meanwhile, my enemies still strong with the tank getting corrupted healed again.

On 5th round, my monsters is eliminated again, which left with just 2 magician, and one of them is already left with just 5 health point and poisoned status. Meanwhile, the enemies tank, getting corrupted healing again, which makes my team so hard to eliminate him.

Another monster is eliminated, and I left with just 1 monster at the end of 6th round.

A defeat for my team, with very solid squad still alive on the opponent side !

Conclussion

Wathing a battle replay could give us inspiration about new tactics or how to counter our own tactics and how we cam improve them. On this battle, I learn that retaliate ability could boost the poison effect from summoner, and how corrupted healing is very usefull on the battle with equal health point ruleset is applied.
