Hello everyone, welcome my blog. The weekend is here with us and I hope you will have an amazing one.
One thing I like about Hive is that everyday, we learn new things, either from the posts we read or our interactions with other users via comments.
Learning is a continuous process so they say and as you learn you explore more and more into other areas outside your field. I guess it's based on this that Dreemport decided to collaborate with Gobrunch, an. innovative community platform for the June challenge.
This challenge just like others will run for three weeks, and in this week 1, we were required to visit the Gobrunch platform during the two days Expo event from Tuesday 11th to Wednesday 12th of June and explore the various communities and see which interests us the most, then share how the experience was like. I must confess when I read the post about the collaboration and saw Gobrunch, I didn't really know what to expect.
So on Tuesday, 11th June, I logged into the site, did registration and within some minutes I found myself at the main expo room. By the time I got there, announcement as to how to the events will go was already made so everywhere was quiet. At first I was confused as I didn't know how to navigate or even join any community room. I wasn't expecting it to be easy nor a bit tricky to find my way around, infact it was just a whole new experience. So I sought help from the discord channel and was able to get some links of some community rooms.
My first point of call was the London Intercultural Centre. Someone was speaking when I got in, though I didn't quite get what it was because I was trying to settle in but after a minute, everywhere was quiet. I waited for about a minute, no voice. I thought maybe the issue was from my end so I reached out on discord and was told the presentation was to start in about ten minutes time. Oh, that was a lot of time to wait when there were other rooms to visit so I dashed out, lol. 😅
The next room was the Behaviour Assessment Room with Kenyatta Turner, MM, BSPC, a Behavioral SuperPowers Coach.
In her presentation she briefly explained how she uses the behavioral self-awareness and personal development checklist in teaching people to understand their behavioral patterns so they can be in charge of it and achieve their full behavioral potential. She noted that it's important for one to know his or her behavioral pattern as it will help the person understand who they really are, why they act the way they do and make conscious effort to adjust, where necessary.
It was a lively, participatory room and I really enjoyed it. I had to spend more time there getting enlightened on behavioral patterns. I equally had the opportunity of introducing myself. Also I got a free swag bag which one of it is the behavioral self-awareness and personal development checklist.
I'm yet to take the test, will do when I'm ready, hehehe.
Another room was Path To Love hosted by Allison. I liked this one since it was going to be talks about love. Everyone needs love, you know, hehehe.
.
I said hi, waited for some time, in fact it was just I and the host, Allison, but nothing was happening. I was just hearing some thumping so I found my way out.
I experienced a challenge and it was about exiting one room to join another. I just got stuck, I was going back and forth as I clicked on the main expo box so I ended up listening to two different presentations at the same time and it wasn't funny. One from Kenyatta and the other one, I can't even remember again, lol.
I did try exploring more rooms but didn't quite get much as it's either I arrived late or nothing was happening there. Moreover, the network wasn't too pleasant at that time.
Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the day 2 or to even go back and check how it went due to some unforseen circumstances.
I saw this event as a way of connecting, with people from all walks of life, professionals in different fields and to also share and gain knowledge.
Like I wrote at first that I didn't know what to expect, but now I'm excited about the whole event and look forward to having an exciting time in the expo proper. I've already registered for the September 11th expo, hehehe
Thanks for reading...
