I'm thinking; What could be the things I need to know that would make my life easier in this life? It is a fact that knowledge and culture, which I see as open-ended, develop at every stage of human life. We realize that even some information you think you know changes over time.
During our student years, all of our educators would suggest us to read books in response to the question of how you can improve yourself. Yes, we cannot imagine that every individual who reads a book is uncultured. We see that most people, especially those who read personal development books, improve themselves rapidly.
Videos and promotions covering different topics from different social media will be useful for you to improve yourself. Youtube, for example... I think it is a comprehensive and broad platform in terms of both general culture and individual development. In its simplest form, you can benefit from the life stories of successful businessmen, important information given by life coaches, and all the informative conversations you can think of.
Years ago, I applied to enter HSBC bank in Istanbul. My application was accepted. We had to go through a three-stage interview. First, they gave us a general test of 20 questions. Those who passed the exam would participate in a collective brainstorming session. Finally, a job offer would be made after a one-on-one interview. Why am I telling this? Because I predicted that there would be questions about banking in that 20-question general test application. But most of the questions were questions related to general culture. Among these test questions, what is the name of the world-famous statue in Copenhagen, Denmark? I was surprised by his question, but I liked it very much. I thought it was a great question to measure general knowledge. By the way, the answer to this question is; It is a little mermaid statue.
After I took the exam, I looked specifically at this question. I wanted to investigate. Because I wondered. Who made the statue? What is the little mermaid story? Did it mean anything to the Danes? I should have known the answers to all these questions.
When you go to the Langelinje Pier area of Copenhagen, there is a little mermaid sitting on one of the stones above the sea. This mermaid was made using bronze and granite in 1913 by sculptor Edvard Eriksen, with the financial support of Carl Jacobsen, the owner of a famous Danish beer brand. For 111 years, this little mermaid has been the center of attention of Danes and tourists from all over the world. The story is adapted from The Little Marmaid, one of the most famous fairy tales by Danish fairy tale writer Andersen. In the tale, the mermaid leaves her life in the submarine to be reunited with her lover, who turns out to be the prince. However, the end of the tale does not have a happy ending as expected. What I want to say is that you can improve yourself in different ways in your life. Let go and ignore what people say. Live your life without compromising your posture and character. Listen to the words of those you value most in life. So to your loved ones... Your dreams and reputation should be your highest values.
The way to improve your general knowledge is possible by satisfying your curiosity, reading a lot and traveling a lot. See you again, take care of yourself.

Farklı sosyal medyalardan, farklı konuları içeren video ve tanıtımlar, kendinizi geliştirmeniz açısından faydalı olacaktır. Youtube mesela... Hem genel kültür, hem de bireysel gelişim açısından kapsamlı ve geniş bir platform olduğunu düşünüyorum. En basit haliyle, başarılı iş adamlarının, yaşam öyküleri, yaşam koçlarının vermiş olduğu önemli bilgiler ve aklınıza gelebilecek tüm bilgi içerikli konuşmalardan faydalanabilirsiniz.
Bundan yıllar önce, İstanbul şehrinde HSBC, bankasına girebilmek için başvuruda bulunmuştum. Başvurum kabul edilmişti. Üç aşamalı bir mülakattan geçmemiz gerekiyordu. İlk olarak bize 20 soruluk genel test uygulaması yaptılar. Sınavı geçenler, toplu olarak beyin fırtınasına katılacaklardı. Son olarak da bire bir görüşme yapıldıktan sonra iş teklifi sunulacaktı. Bunu neden anlatıyorum. Çünkü o 20 soruluk genel test uygulamasında, bankacılıkla ilgili soruların olacağını tahmin etmiştim. Ama soruların çoğu genel kültürle alakalı sorulardı. Bu test sorularının arasında, Danimarka'nın Kopenhag'da bulunan dünyaca ünlü heykelin adı nedir? Sorusuna şaşırmış ama çokta hoşuma gitmişti. Tamamen genel kültürü ölçmeye yarayan harika bir soru olarak düşünmüştüm. Bu arada bu sorunun cevabı; küçük denizkızı heykelidir.
Sınavdan çıktıktan sonra, bu soruya özellikle baktım. Araştırmak istedim. Çünkü merak ettim. Heykeli kim yaptı? Küçük denizkızı hikayesi nedir? Danimarkalılar için bir anlamı var mıydı? Tüm bu soruların cevabını bilmeliydim.
