It's been too long since I've written up a Titans post but, oh well. Better late than never! I'm still intrigued by the draft picks and look forward to sharing my thoughts on other Titans topics. Especially with the Titans first game just being in just 94 days!
So back in April, after J.C. and T'Vondre, the Titans went and filled a need on defense by drafting North Carolina's inside linebacker Cedric Gray.
This was a pretty awesome looking selection. The Titans have not had a real steady linebacking core in awhile in my opinion. They were ok with Jayon and Rashaan, and David Long Jr. had moments when he was healthy, but it'd be nice to have some more reliability at inside linebacker. Of course even more recently the Titans lost Azeez Al-Shaair to the freaking Texans, so yeah, all in all Cedric is a logical signing.
Not only was signing Cedric logical but, Cedric himself as a prospect does seem pretty promising. Often times when I imagine a fourth round inside linebacker, I imagine a super safe, probably intelligent player with a fairly low ceiling. But watching Cedric's highlights, he actually does appear surprisingly explosive. He seems to have a good instincts and gets more sacks and TFLs than I would have expected.

As far as I can tell, Cedric does check all of the boxes, and then some. I was impressed by his demeanor and apparent desire to be a leader. There's been rumors that he could be a day one starter for the Titans and even handle defensive playcalling in that he may wear the 'green dot' helmet which contains the mic that communicates with the defensive coordinator. If this is the case, the Titans must think really highly of him. We'll have to wait and see!
As per my loose tradition, here are two more random Madden dubs from my Madden 24 vault!
