I'm enjoying how much more easily we can learn about history today not just in other nations than the West, but often more from their point of view as well. Recently I've been learning a bit about the Mongol Empire, which seems to be the first time linking Europe to the far East. I gather Kublai tried to take Japan at one point even, but didn't get very far.
