Good day everyone splinterlands community, today I will share another interesting battle in a modern format. The highlight of today's blog will be the showdown between Uriel the Purifier and Heloise the Hollow. If you're wondering who emerged victorious, the outcome should already be quite clear based on the title I put details shared—giving an indication of which side had the advantage.

URIEL THE PURIFIER is a useful and powerful legendary Life-element unit known for its durability and powerful melee attacks especially when it been recharged. With Flying, Recharge, Heal, and Redemption, this unit executes well as both a tank and a heavy damage dealer. Its high health (12) and armor (6) make him resilient, while Flying enhances its evasion against both range and melee opponents. Recharge triples the attack every other even number round except if stun and the condition of not able to attack first round and so on even but can deliver massive melee damage, and Heal allows this unit to sustain longer in battle. Additionally, Redemption ensures that it deals damage to all enemies upon defeat. This unit works best when paired with support cards that enhance healing or defense, such as Adelade Brightwing for armor repair or Lily Shieldpaw for camouflage and additional sustain protection in backline line-up and Uriel will act as a tank, making him a formidable force in long battles.

HELOISE THE HOLLOW is also a powerful and useful legendary card from the Death and Earth elements, combining offense and defense with her abilities Taunt, Opportunity, Spire, and Soul Siphon. This unit has high melee damage and Taunt makes this an excellent frontline tank or drawing enemy attacks while her Soul Siphon ability helps sustain her in battle. Pairing her with support units that provide healing or armor repair enhances her survivability, while summoners that boost melee attack or speed can maximize her damage output, making her a powerful core unit in various strategies. Though I didn't quite see players use this, only very specific rule sets are needed to synergize well to its ability unlike Uriel the Purifier, this Heloise the Hollow is quite expensive and hard to get.
Now, I’ll be sharing my battle experience in the modern format, this time using my scholar account. I’ll be putting my strategy to the test...
Who do you think will come out victorious in this matchup? Let’s find out!

In this battle, the rule sets given are Beefcakes, Noxious Fumes, and Target Practice, with a 19 mana cap, and Earth and Dragon elements inactive. Since Poison from Noxious Fumes can be overwhelming, healing and immunity units were important. I chose General Sloan as my summoner to manage mana cost while building my lineup. Uriel the Purifier served as both my tank and main damage dealer, supported by Celestial Harpy for backline attacks and Xenith Archer for additional ranged damage. I avoided using Harklaw and Revealer from the Death element, as Target Practice would make Revealer an easy target, and Beefcakes required units with at least 5 health, reducing the likelihood of Doctor Blight being played. Confident in Uriel's durability and synergy with the rule set, I went forward with my strategy.
My opponent opted for the Death element, using Thaddius Brood as their summoner, with a lineup featuring Heloise the Hollow, Revealer, and Halfling Refugee. Heloise proved to be a strong choice, with Taunt and Revive, protecting Revealer and minimizing the impact of Poison. Their lineup was well-position and aligned with the rule sets, making for a formidable matchup...
As the battle unfolded, a surprising moment occurred—Heloise missed an attack on my Uriel, which was triggered Retaliate, but that attack was also dodged. Thanks to Flying and decent speed, Uriel managed to avoid critical hits, securing victory despite the opponent’s strong damage potential. That miss turned the tide, making Uriel the MVP of the match. Stun, Weary, and Miss were sure lucky on my side.😅

A Big Thanks! for supporting me, being here, and coming this far. I hope this strategy can assist you with some of your battles with these rule sets.
