Hello everyone , another very challenging week for a battle mage challenge.
The game is becoming more competitive as time pass. Getting wins for a specific rule is getting harder. So I guess not all challenge week is a time to feature a winning battle. The battle I'm featuring today maybe a loss but I learned a lot and I'm sure everyone will learn also.
With all the conditions given in this battle , I guess it's safe to say that I just witnessed a perfect Line Up for this weeks challenge rule, the " Keep Your Distance " rule.
For this battle challenge I will be doing it differently, Instead of highlighting my line up. I will focus more on the opponent and why I call it the perfect line up for this rule .
Line Up Selection
- Baakjira - The heal and the void ability makes this a perfect tank for this rule.
- Oshannus - I put him in the second position to counter any snipe units, with his speed and phase makes him harder to target
- Merdaali Guardian - additional heal for the Baakjira to have more sustain.
- River Nymph - my main purpose for the selection is the cleanse , with this in my arsenal Baakjira won't have to worry for those anti heal skills
- Angelic Mandarin - with triage to support backline units and the silence to reduce magic damage , another perfect support utility unit
I have a very solid line up but because of having only chaos cards I was not prepared for the other cards editions that was used by the opponent .
Battle Highlights
When the line up was revealed , I already can tell that my line up was countered hard. Just their tank already counters my whole team.
Prismatic Energy has a void and magic reflect and to make it worst the summoner gave it the return fire ability .
Swamp Spitter is also replenishes it's armor , so basically only Oshannus is dealing a single damage.
Nothing much happened until the sixth round, River Nymph was the first to fall due to the continues magic reflect damage. So without River Nymph the cleanse is also gone making Baajira now vulnerable to poison and Affliction from Blight.
Mandarin also is getting a return fire damage so it's only a matter of time that he will have the same fate as the Nymph
- On the eighth round Baakjira fell, and with Oshannus in charge and the only one dealing damage the battle really looks bad .
The battle is looking good with every hit being dodge by Oshannus, but when the affliction of Blight hit him my only chance of winning is gone.
The battle continued until my tank fell , and it's clear my two units left can't do anything.
- It was a long battle , it reached round 18 but I accept that my line up was countered, It was a good battle to learn from in my next battles , specially when I see it in the battle history. maybe next time I can counter it too.
And that's it for now , it's a good loss . I learned a lot from it.
