Back to 2021, when Blockchain has massive hype, Splinterlands is my first ever web3 experience. Since I have no knowledge about blockchain, I have to start to learn about it, really from scratch. I have to find articles that can well explained, I also watch some video on the youtube, and it's not very easy to learn about it, with language become one of the barrier (most explanation are in English, there are some in Bahasa, but I still feel confuse).

I have to learn about how it works, how to do deposit, send the assets from metamask into the game, gas fee required, etc. Learning about blockchain is probably my biggest obstacle at the time, like there is so much thing I have to learn, including the rental system on Splinterlands.

Which Feature or Mechanic Took the Longest to Fully Understand?

Learning about all the abilities and ruleset is probably what I have to learn for a long time, this is because many abilities are unlocked when the monster at highest level, meanwhile, I am playing on lower and mid league, so there are many abilities that I don't familiar with. At the moment, I try to cope up, and try to compete on the gold and diamond league, I am sure the enemies are not as brutal as on the champions, and I am very sure many abilities are used by the enemies, something that I have to learn by facing it, or using it to fully understand. With more and more new series and new abilities are introduced, the learning is like never ending, you either learn or will left behind !

What Advice Would I Give to My Past Self or a New Player

I have faced a massive loss when the old reward series (venari wavesmith) are no longer working well because the alpha and beta summoner are no longer free to use. I was collect a lot of the cards because it has massive rental price. My mistake is to keep them when the new series are launched, because everything not the same anymore. Without the magic buff summoner, it has less function, and the massive drop of crypto just make it even worse.

My advice is to keep open for any information of update or changes on the game. We are having the proposal system now, try to read all of them before you vote for it, this is because any little change might affect the game significanly. Not only the game, the assets might getting the impact as well, so protect your asset by stay update !

Specific Moments that Helped Me to Grow the Most?

I think the most important moment that give highest influence about my Splinterlands journey is when I found the Indonesian Splinterlands Community at the telegram. The information that shared there has open lot of opportunity not just on the Splinterlands (like getting new information, guild, etc) but also much more than that. Blogging on hive is one of the opportunity that shared there, and that's how I know we can earn by writing here ! The friendship, the spirit, and supports are very important for me to keep playing this game and explore more about Splinterlands. I really suggest new players to find a community where you can suit well. Could be a guild, community, or your real life friends, it's much more enjoyable when we can share each other.

My Journey on Learning Splinterlands faced many obstacle, and the biggest is learning about blockchain from the scratch because I never been on Web3 before. Learning about the abilities that keep having addition on each series launch is mechanic that took longest to fully understand. I advice new players to keep up to date and don't miss any updates because it can change the game and your assets value significanly. And last, find a community where you can share and care each other, it will makes you feel much better 😇
