The price of DEC is on the rise and it likely has to do with the roll out of land 1.75. This may have to do with the demand for Grain on the rise as starting tomorrow the requirement to harvest changes with new resources.
While the demand for grain is rising the supply of DEC have been shrinking.
Multiple reasons players are hoarding more DEC in addition to reduced supply. For instance new card set Conclave soon to be released and the first ever full season of Survival Mode.
The amount of cards switching hands is on the rise leading to card prices appreciating. The demand for old and new assets are seeming all rising which in turn is all signs of a Splinterlands bull run very likely.
Just look at a max level regular set of Chaos cards are now close to 2x in value since it had hit a low just a few weeks ago.
From around $600 for a full set to now closer to $1,100. It is simply amazing how the demand of cards are on the rise with prices rising like I have not seen since the boom in 2019/20.
My personal strategy remains the same. I too am trying to accumulate DEC while adjusting my land plots to likely focus on producing grain. I hope this will allow me to sell grains for more DEC. Meanwhile I am sacrificing my plots from doing research and shards. I do not want to yet build out the new resources and rather watch the market and see how the participants adopt first. I do not have sufficient resources to spread to creating new ones. I rather focus on existing and accumulating from there. I do not think it is wrong and since DEC price has risen since I believe for now I had made the correct decision.
Looking ahead if DEC can hit peg value it will only increase the value of all Splinterlands assets. Me trying to hold as much of DEC I can get before the new card set roll out is ideal. My plan with the accumulated DEC is to build out a more competive card collection. On the flip side I am sacrificing my land plot participation for now.
