Its been nearly a week since Hive price boom and now DEC prices seems to be stabilizing.
I have been scrutinizing the prices because I am trying to time the market of when best to spend DEC for card purchases. Me seeing DEC to Hive ratio lower will mean its cheaper to trade for DEC and in turn get me more to spend. Now seeing DEC prices stabilize would mean I would not see more depreciation and probably a good point to buy some.
Something a bit concerning to me is the increase of DEC supply. With more Hive to purchase DEC it appears there is a rising supply of DEC. As many should know DEC supply is control by supply and demand. Bottomline it can go to infinity in supply. Holding DEC long term may not be ideal as supply can increase and lower its value. Therefore I need to buy only to be sure I have cards I want to purchase.
Nightmare packs have really become a nightmare for me. I had bought majority of my packs over 4 Hive each and I still hold over 1k of packs. To see its value basically down more than 75% is heartbreaking and another sign that investing in Splinterlands assets for the long run is not ideal.
This comes back to something we as Splinterlands fans have to come to deal with. The more we invest the more we lose but we do hold more assets. The hope is that the assets appreciate in price and we believe in the developers. I have to admit this is not a good sign to go long Splinterlands assets as again I have been on the losing side.
My numbers of Splinterlands assets can continue to rise but value continue to drop simply is not something I would advise others to invest into. This is one of the key reasons I think why not a lot of people are on-ramping into the game as they see the pattern of investing into crypto games. I do not have a resolution to this issue but for now I am only focused on buying more cards in hopes to continue progressing. If it was all about the asset appreciation I do not think I would be playing Splinterlands. Would you?
Until next time thanks for reading!!!
