Hello Splinterlands Summoners! There is a new proposal to allocate 1.8m SPS for one year as rewards for Splinter Royale players.
Splinter Royale is a new game which will use Splinterlands assets similar to Splinterforge. Players will need heroes which can be purchased in the Splinter Royale shop. The heroes are similar to summoners in Splinterlands. Currently, the presale pack for the heroes are ongoing.
Similar to Splinterlands, there will be regular and gold foil versions and these cards can also be combined.
There are also buildings in the game probably similar to the buildings that the guild requires in Splinterlands. But in Splinter Royale, the buildings are for individual players.
Splinter Royale has several tokens in game.
Credits - soulbound token used to purchase items within the game.
Splintercrowns - soulbound token that can be earned in the game.
Influence - tokens that can be earned by staking heroes.
Energy - soulbound token that can be earned when playing ranked games.
Aside from the above, the game has use for Splinterlands tokens.
DEC - accepted to purchase Credits
BDEC - When a player burns DEC it seems to be added to their account as a token.
SPS - A player needs to stake SPS in order to earn in the game. This is probably what adds value to Splinterlands, further use case for SPS.
I tried the game tutorial and it seems the gameplay is similar to Hearthstone or Gods Unchained. I will look for more tutorials in youtube since I didn't find the in game tutorial that helpful.

There are pros and cons to the proposal. On one hand, it benefits SPS since players will need to stake SPS to earn. This will mean reducing the circulating SPS. Also, this means further use to Splinterlands cards that you already have. On the other hand, SPS rewards will further contribute to inflation. There are already several approved proposals to reduce SPS rewards from liquidity pools and introducing another game to earn SPS seems counterintuitive.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree or disagree?
Thanks for reading.
