Hello! This post is for Weekly Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge, where every week we write post related to a topic! In this post, I will be discussing my favorite cards in the main set of Splinterland's new set: Conclave Arcana.
This set has a lot of new cards, and it is also important to not e that Chaos Legion leaves the board. Bravetofu kindly shared some card details in this post, where I got the information for the cards. I will be posting about Fire, Death, and Magic element first.
Promo
But first, let's look at the Promo cards. Both of these promo cards are really well made in my opinion. First, the rare card Arcane Skinwalker is 8 mana with 3 magic attack. It also has 4 abilities, Shapeshift, Inspire, Camouflage, and Silence. I think it has a nice set of abilities overall, and with the Shapeshift ability it is going to be a nice card that fits in any magic attacker slot.
Next, Gramel The Hunger is a Legendary card with 3 (!) attack types. It also has Charge, Scattershot, Relentless Strike, Shapeshift and Camouflage. It also is nice damage dealer that has 3 different attacks. Same with Arcane Skinwalker, the Shapeshift ability allows it to be in most of the CA lineups in high mana battles.
Fire
Flame For Hire
This is a very nice card which only costs 5 mana, but has 3 magic attack. It also has Painforge which means possibility of getting more attack, as well as stun which is always nice. Also the card art is very good on this one! (Especially the Black Foil)
Oridum Graybrow
This is a 7 mana Tank with 4 melee attack. The ability sets are also interesting for this card. Its health and Armor is pretty low, but it 100% resurrects itself with 100% HP. It additionally has another effect which is triggered when death(I forgot what it does) and also some other nice abilities, which makes this card overall an interesting (but good) tank.
Molten Elemental
Another card with a nice art!! It has 4 melee and 2 Ranged, and Flying, Void, Silence, Close Range and Trample. The abilities are magic hate while it provides massive DPS. However, the 4 melee and 6 HP isn't good on its own, so it needs some other card's support to fully get it work.
Inept Healer
It's A HEALER! 100% going to be a must in CA+Rebellion Modern. Additionally the Magic Hate abilities are nice in Magic only battles.
Death
Gonach Excavator
Gonach Excavator is a cheap 3 mana Sneak attacker, with the disadvantage of dealing damage to friendly adjacent units. However, I see this ability as another advantage if it can be also used with painforge and martyr(although no martyr in Modern). So, this card would be a staple Death card in my opinion.
Shadowfey Sheik
I personally value painforge with high potential, so I put this card here. Painforge + Life Leech basically makes it so that if you have a unit like Gonach Excavator at the back and this as the 5th, it buffs this card EACH ROUND, meaning +1 damage EACH ROUND! The combo that this card can make will be really interesting to see. Also Affliction vs Healing.
Razi Clanktrap
Already Said above, but Giving Gnomes painforge will be great! I haven't seen the exact bloodline types of all units, but there might be interesting combos with this many cards. Additionally Close Range is always nice (especially Ranged only ruleset)
Lucky Longshot
1.Weapons Training 2. Has 2 attacks(which can always be buffed by others) 3. 3 mana
Simply this card will dominate the low mana battles in my opinion. It would also drive the RB's non attacker card's value really high, since there is only 1 in this whole set right now.
Water
Water Diviner
It Zaps, but having 23 magic while costing 2 mana DEFINITELY cancels out. The opportunity and the Stun is just a bonus here.
Jicarilla the Rime
It's HEALER! (even in level 2) Apart from that, the other abilities are top tiers. Back Cleanse and giving Void makes this card a perfect backline unit, while there is ECHO, one of the best ability that can be with Tank heal. Safe to say that this card is going to be in high demand.
Warwall Juggernaut
Another Painforge, but I want to focus on the Reach+Armored Strike as well as high HP. It can do the secondary Tank role well, while also dealing high damage with Range+Armored Strike. With some unit to cause Painforge in rank 3, this card would be really nice in mid-high mana battles.
Abyssal Elemental
This card can be the 6 mana 3 magic attackers that CL cards did (Magi of Chaos...etc) Additionally, it resurrects and also has Blast. An amazing card.
Conclusion
So these are my favorite cards! I really look forward for the set, as it feels more exciting to see the new cards. I already bought some CA packs, and although I can't really spend much, I was able to snag a Gold Pack, and now looking for some potions.
