Presale Limited Edition Promo Cards
Over the course of this two-week blog post series, I will dive into the core of REBELLION, concentrating on the 2 Presale Limited Edition Promo Cards featured in the very first post by the Splinterlands Team: THE REBELLION IS COMING!
When players acquire REBELLION PACKS during the presale, they will also qualify to obtain not just one but these 2 Limited Edition Promo Cards! These unique cards will be exclusively minted for the REBELLION presale and won't be found in subsequent REBELLION BOOSTER PACKS. Hence, the sole means of acquiring them is by purchasing packs during the REBELLION presale or acquiring them later from others who did!
Additionally, for every 10 REBELLION BOOSTER PACKS bought in the presale, which includes bonus packs for bulk purchases, players will be rewarded with a Grimbardun Smith (Rare, Neutral Splinter). Each Grimbardun Smith card received carries a 4% chance of being a Gold Foil version. Players are assured of obtaining at least one Gold Foil version for every 250 REBELLION BOOSTER PACKS purchased during the presale!
Furthermore, each REBELLION BOOSTER PACK purchased in the presale carries a 1% chance of containing a Mantaroth (Legendary, Neutral Splinter). Players are guaranteed to receive at least one Mantaroth card for every 100 REBELLION BOOSTER PACKS purchased and at least one Gold Foil Mantaroth card for every 2,500 REBELLION BOOSTER PACKS bought during the presale. Additionally, each Mantaroth card obtained will have a 4% chance of being a Gold Foil version! 😍
MANTAROTH
After last week's post on Grimbardun Smith, I shall talk about the Mantaroth this week! The Monster is a Legendary Rarity Monster hailing from the Neutral Splinter and is probably one of the few Monster capable of possessing 5 unique abilities when they are at max level.
Certainly one of the most intriguing abilities of the Mantaroth is undeniably the Armored Strike, first introduced with the REBELLION EDITION! The ability initially caused a bit of confusion during its sneak peek, but the mechanics have now become apparent to players as they witness it in battle. In essence, the Armored Strike resembles the Double Strike ability, allowing Mantaroth to initiate an attack with its Armor stat before proceeding with its Melee attack. This becomes even more devastating given Mantaroth's possession of the Blast ability, further compounding to the impact of these damages! ☠️
Since I primarily operate on the scholarship account provided by Balthazar, I lack access to the REBELLION cards for gameplay. Consequently, in the upcoming sections, the battles I will be sharing are either from my daily grind where the opponent uses the Mantaroth or intriguing encounters I come across while studying the Top Battles featured! 😅
BATTLE FROM JAYVEE72
As mentioned earlier, the Mantaroth's remarkable synergy with the Armored Up ruleset becomes evident in this battle. With the Armored Up ruleset in play, the Mantaroth's Armor stats surged to 6 right from the start. Leveraging the Ambush ability granted by Summoner Akane from Jayvee72's team to launch its attack before the battle begin, the Mantaroth effectively capitalized on its full Armor stats. It unleashes formidable assaults on the opponent by utilizing the Armored Strike ability, causing 6 damage from the Armor and an additional 3 damage from the subsequent Melee attack. Not to be overlooked are the Blast damages it inflicted during this onslaught as well!.
Although the Mantaroth's Armor stats diminished during the battle, its Repair ability played a crucial role in regaining 2 Armor stats each turn. Throughout the battle, the Mantaroth received consistent support from the Tank Heal ability provided by Venari Crystalsmith in the backline, ensuring its sustained Health. In the end, the Mantaroth proved overwhelmingly formidable, showcasing both exceptional offensive and defensive capabilities that left the opponent perplexed! 💪
BATTLE FROM WATARI21
In another compelling battle led by Watari21, the Mantaroth's prowess was again spotlighted in a confrontation featuring the Armored Up ruleset. In this engagement, the Mantaroth not only acquired an Armor buff from the ruleset but also received additional Armor from the Summoner Lux Vega, resulting in an impressive total Armor stat of 7 before contending with the -2 Armor debuff from Noa The Just's Rust ability on the opposing team. Despite these adjustments, the Mantaroth remained well-equipped to inflict substantial damage.
The Mantaroth has overwhelming support in this battle scenario, benefitting from the Tank Heal ability of Venari Crystalsmith and the Repair ability of Adelade Brightwing. With these supporting cast members and the inherent Repair ability of the Mantaroth, the tanker could effectively recover 4 Health and 4 Armor stats each turn. Such substantial support laid the groundwork for the Mantaroth to excel in the battle, especially with its consistent damage output from the Armored Strike and Blast abilities! 😤
