This past Friday, April 25th, was the Parade of Wonders, which kicks off the annual Calgary Comic Expo. It's a parade that features plenty of cosplayers, and anyone who wants to play their favorite characters can join in the fun. The weather was as perfect as it could get; the route was a new one that ran down 13th Avenue, turning onto Center Street before making a final turn onto 17th Avenue, which leads right into the Stampede and Exhibition Grounds, where the Expo takes place.
This is only a small sample of what I saw. The first picture in the set with Mayor Dog Loki as a feature is our own Mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek, who looks very stunning as Thor. They were followed by a marching band playing some favorite pop culture-themed tunes. Then came the DeLorean for a Back to the Future reunion that was taking place this year; inside was Jeffrey Weissman, who played George McFly in Back to the Future 2. The costumes were amazing this year, so stay tuned for more!
