Sometimes there are things that can go undone for months. For example, that shirt in my room that, even though I always intend to wash it, I keep forgetting.I was reading @jrobe, and every line he wrote made me think of that shirt.
Not because I have to wash it, or because I wear it a lot, or because I should put it away. But because sometimes in life, things that should only take minutes, we wait hours, months, or even years to do.
Although I'm generally a proactive person because I like to be constantly doing something, I know that in other aspects of my life, I tend to take a long time to take even a single step.
Sometimes, because it seems like an incredibly daunting task.
Like, for example, some work that needs to be done.
Sometimes I have to do certain things related to my projects, and I put them off because they seem incredibly complicated.
Sometimes, yes, they are complicated things, so I have to seek help to do them, like with my website. I didn't understand many things, mainly because I just want a website to write about plants and sell my products through it.
But configurations? Not at all, that's not for me. So I talked to my sister, and she's taking care of all of that.
On the other hand, there are the things that just seem complex.
Either because they take a lot of time.
They demand too much attention.
Or simply because I don't want to do them since I already know how complex they are.
So I only tackle them according to their priority. That way, little by little, I'm eliminating those tedious tasks from my list.
We also have the things that weren't so complex, but that seemed (in a very exaggerated way) the most difficult thing in the world. Until we actually do them and realize they weren't as difficult as we thought.
This often happens to me. Although I don't spend months waiting to do certain tasks. I just put them off, and that's it.
Then comes the big moment, where I have to face them head-on, only to realize it wasn't so difficult after all.
But all of this has one thing in common.
Well, two things, to be honest.
Our mind plays tricks on us as much as we let it.
It's said that each of us has our own worst enemy. And that enemy is ourselves.
Because everything is in our minds: success, negativity, even the level of productivity we can achieve.
So, just as negative thoughts can appear out of nowhere, we also have to work on making positivity the dominant mindset.
This is somewhat related to the previous point, because we should act more and talk less.
If we have a positive mindset, more ideas will come, and in a very interesting way, our opportunities will be greater.
Which leads us to action because we have the energy that this positivity gives us, so let's do things with enthusiasm, feeling that nothing is impossible and that the journey is just a walk in the park.
That's why the best way to avoid laziness, boredom, and procrastination is by taking action.
Even if we don't want to, even if we have to force our bodies.
For example, I needed to buy some things; it's late, the stores are about to close, but they were things I was missing, they're necessary, and I hadn't had time to buy them during the day.
Faced with this, I have two options: stress myself out tomorrow because I didn't buy them today, or get up and go buy them.
The second option seems simpler; the problem is that I feel incredibly tired. It's been a long day at work, a very long day, but things have to be done.
Of course, you don't reach these conclusions so quickly in life. It happens after certain things have occurred.
One of them is the stress of life. Even though I'm tired, doing certain things will save me some trouble, so I choose that path.
Despite all that, we're human.
Yes, it's true that we can do everything to complete a to-do list perfectly. But we're human.
Today we might be able to do it all; at least that's been my day. However, there are also other days, like yesterday, when I don't manage to get everything done. And that's okay.
There's no need to get frustrated about it, because activities are just that: activities.
And we have to live life in the best way we think we can.
