On a fresh green blade of grass, a tiny fly stood gracefully. Upon closer inspection, the tiny fly resembled a fairytale creature lost in a wild garden. The fly's colors were strikingly beautiful: black, white, and a touch of silvery gold. A truly beautiful combination of colors. The fresh green grass provided a harmonious backdrop for this tiny fly. The soft sunlight also lent a peaceful atmosphere to this tiny creature.
It stood perfectly still on the blade of grass. Despite its calm demeanor, approaching it still required caution. It was just an insect that liked to flit about. When it flew to change locations, its small size made it a bit difficult to locate. However, I admired this fly; it seemed unperturbed by my presence, even though I was so close. Yet, it remained relaxed. Meeting it was truly a miracle.
In Latin, this tiny fly is known as Eumerus figurans. It's a member of the Syrphidae family. This fly prefers to spend its time in fresh grass, as I found it. Besides fresh grass, this fly also enjoys colorful flower gardens. I've seen this type of fly several times in zinnia gardens, but I wasn't able to capture it. They were flying back and forth above the flower petals.
