Two days ago I managed to find a pair of painted jezebel butterflies making love behind the leaves. And today nature gave me another amazing surprise, I managed to find a cocoon of a painted jezebel butterfly attached gracefully to a branch of a plant. This cocoon has a very extraordinary shape, very different from other cocoons I have ever found.
Try to look closely, the shape of this cocoon is very similar to the body of a butterfly complete with eyes and short antennae. At first I thought it was the body of a butterfly that had lost its other members. After I looked closely it turned out that it was not a butterfly but a cocoon. The color is also very beautiful, shiny yellow combined with characteristic black lines. Its appearance is very calming, like its attitude which is also very calm waiting for its metamorphosis process.
