Kecombrang (local name) or with the Latin name Etlingera elatior is a type of ginger plant and is also a cultivated plant. Kecombrang is included in the Kingdom Plantae, magnoliophyta division. Kecombrang is still included in the Zingiberaceae family, a family of plants that are the ginger or rhizome tribe.

Kecombrang has many benefits. Especially kecombrang flowers, which are widely used as a spice mixture for food seasonings and also as traditional medicine.

Kecombrang flowers have a distinctive aroma so they can be an additional spice in cooking. The stem is straight almost like bamboo and can reach 2 to 3 meters high.
