Parasa consocia | 07 02 2025 | North Acèh Regency, Acèh, Indonesia |
I found a unique caterpillar that immediately caught my attention. This caterpillar is Parasa consocia, a type of caterpillar that has a striking and somewhat "fierce" appearance.
Its body is bright green with a pattern resembling patches on its back. What is most striking are the sharp yellow and blue spines all over its body. Don't be fooled by their pretty appearance—these caterpillars are known as stinging caterpillars that can cause irritation if touched.
I found it clinging to a small twig, as if it was preparing to find a place to metamorphose. I immediately captured this moment with a macro lens to show the amazing details of her body.
NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
