Greetings lovely people and welcome to my blog post. It's been an exciting journey into the 3D art space for me and I've been learning and improving in my crafts so far, one step at a time they say. So for a few weeks now I've been into 3D modelling, learning, and applying the things I've learnt and seeing how far I can possibly go with it.
So for today, I decided to migrate to HiveDIY community to share my work with everyone here and also show you guys what I have been learning so far and how I'm applying it and also teach one of two from what I've been able to learn too.
So without any further ado, I will love to share my step by step process with you guys. Take a moment and learn with me, or go through this with me, thank you!

Work Process

So the first step here is a basic 3D shape (cylinder) that I chose to work with. Some people usually find the square, triangle or even circle as an easy pick to work with or start their work with, but I find cylinder quite easier for me so most of my work, I use the cylinder to begin my modeling process.

After getting my cylinder to get started with, I used the transform tool to reduce the size of the cylinder to what I needed by dragging it downwards and I also reduced the number of lines in X, Y and Z axis, this is so that when I'm extruding the material, there will be no conflict between the boxes.

After resizing the cylinder, I started my extrusions. I selected the bottom of the cylinder, then extruded and shrunk both sides towards each other to give me the not-so V-shaped at the bottom of the cup.
Then I went further to create another cylinder which I used for the cup cover, yet again I resized the cylinder using transform tools to the level I wanted the cover, made extrusions at the top/bottom of the cup cover, and then a centre extrusion to give that tiny opening (hole) at the center.

Here I continued working on the cup cover, as it is seen in the second photo, I had more refined shape of the cover, and then I created the straw in this step as well. Still using the cylinder shape, I picked my manipulator tools to drag and resize the straw, making it longer and thinner

Then here I went ahead to work on the cup again, this time I created an opening in the cup, I mean what is a cup without an opening for filling in the liquid? So I created this opening using extruding methods, I picked the extrude tool, selected the few boxes at the center that I wanted to make the opening and then extruded those boxes downwards, towards the bottom part of the cup to give that opening.

In this step, you notice the color change, after working on cup model of course I decided to give it a lovely touch with a color of my choice.
I decided to pick a similar color with one of my cups at home which is blue. So I colored the cup, the cover and the straw all the same color

Further view and angle shots of my coloured cup. I rotated the cup in different angles to get different views of it.
And that was it, that's all I did, although a few manipulation I can't can explain in words. I do hope you like the results

Here is a closer view of my cup. This was exciting and fun to work on and I absolutely liked the result.
I intentionally omitted the smoothing process for reasons best known to me.
Still I believe it gave the result I wanted.
What do you think of my 3D modelled cup? Leave me your reviews, thank you!
