He querido trabajar en algo diferente, vi una cajita de joyero y traté de recrearla a mi estilo, Quisiera contar una anécdota, en una salida con mi mejor amiga estábamos viendo unas tasitas de cerámica, yo las uso para mis velas aromáticas, pero ella me sorprendió para qué las usa, me dijo, que las tiene en su mesa de noche con sus joyas y me dije, pero ¿Por qué no los tienes en cajitas de joyería? Pues ella es muy elegante y fina, su respuesta fue: No tengo, entonces miré hondo y me di cuenta que yo tampoco tengo, pues con la mudanza, las que había comprado eran tan delicadas que se rompieron. Esta historia me inspiró a hacer un joyero para mí, buscando practicar para obtener maestría y ver si le hago una a mi amiga con otros materiales.

I wanted to try something different. I saw a little jewellery box and tried to recreate it in my own style. I’d like to share a little story: when I was out with my best friend, we were looking at some little ceramic cups. I use them for my scented candles, but she surprised me with what she uses them for. She told me she keeps them on her bedside table with her jewellery, and I thought to myself, ‘But why don’t you keep them in jewellery boxes? Well, she’s very elegant and refined, and her reply was: ‘I don’t have any.’ So I thought about it deeply and realised that I don’t have any either, because during the move, the ones I’d bought were so delicate that they broke. This story inspired me to make a jewellery box for myself, as a way to practise and hone my skills, and to see if I can make one for my friend using different materials.

Usé un plato para hacer los bordes redondeados, marqué y corté.
Se necesitan dos piezas, una pieza adicional rectangular que servirá de bisagra.

I used a plate to create the rounded edges, marked them out and cut them out.
You’ll need two pieces, plus an extra rectangular piece to act as a hinge.

La medida de la bisagra debe coincidir con el tamaño de los depósitos, por lo cual he cortado 4 piezas del rollo de papel higiénico reciclado con un ancho de 3 centímetros.
Forramos la pieza en ambas caras, colocando en posición las piezas armando la caja.
Corté 4 piezas de tela de seda para forrar los depósitos que van dentro.

The dimensions of the hinge must match the size of the containers, so I have cut four pieces from the recycled toilet roll, each 3 centimetres wide.
We line both sides of the piece, positioning the pieces to assemble the box.
I cut four pieces of silk fabric to line the containers that go inside.

Forra cada tubo que formará los depósitos de la caja.
Cora 4 piezas de encaje de la medida que de la vuelta cada pieza y ahora rodea la pieza por fuera y pega el excedente por dentro.

Line each tube that will form the compartments of the box.
Cut 4 pieces of lace to the right size, wrap each piece around the tube, then wrap the lace around the outside of the tube and tuck the excess inwards.

En la parte del borde coloqué una cinta.Para pegar la cinta que cierra la caja, está la pegas por fuera, luego decora la caja a tu gusto con lo que tengas, yo coloqué unos stickers y temas de joyería de fantasía.
La caja cierra y puedes hacerle un lazo, Espero te guste este modelo, creo que con tela quedará un mejor resultado, me fue difícil trabajar con la calidad del papel para forrar.

I added some ribbon around the edge. To stick the ribbon that closes the box, you stick it on the outside, then decorate the box however you like with whatever you have to hand; I used some stickers and costume jewellery.
The box closes and you can tie a bow on it. I hope you like this design; I think it would look better with fabric, as I found the quality of the wrapping paper difficult to work with.
