This is not IKEA furniture

In one of the previous posts, I wrote about my hobby - what I can make with my hands.
The fact that I like to make, assemble, repair often puts me in a situation where I can't refuse someone from my environment, when they ask me for help 😅

This time, the project was a desk for my friend.
Since I drive a car that can fit a dimension box, in addition to assembly, I was also asked for transportation, and when we were in the furniture showroom, my opinion was asked for the selected desk 🙂

Then I saw that the work table was not very small and I tried to transfer the assembly to the supplier's team, however, the deadlines for the free appointment were such that there was no point in waiting for them.
Nothing, I packed the box in the car, took it to her apartment and unpacked it.

I don't have pictures of that physical part of this action, and they wouldn't be interesting, and they certainly aren't related to the topic of this post - assembling a table that wasn't bought in an IKEA showroom.

Since a year ago, when I agreed to help my friend assemble furniture for the whole apartment, and when we "suffered" due to a relaxed approach to assembly, it was as if we took to assembling IKEA furniture, which often does not require any tools.

The instructions I held in my hands seemed detailed, but I managed to find a few inconsistencies.
One was in the picture and the other was in front of me.

I didn't need a lot of tools - screwdrivers, scalpel, hammer, Allen keys...
And brain involvement.

Nothing can be memorized with furniture that has this many details.

I realized that when I decided that I turned the drawer slide wrong 🤣

As soon as I started following the instructions, after repeated, more detailed reading, things took their course.

I formed the support element of the work table and nailed a thin plate to the back, thus strengthening the structure.

The assembly of drawers can be particularly tricky, but this model had a relatively simplified construction, so apart from a little tapping with a hammer, in order to fasten the plastic connectors, it was necessary to tighten it with a screwdriver.

The worktop rests on the central part of the table, which is attached to metal legs on one side, and after tightening, the construction was finished.
All that was left was to place two drawers, previously made, and after an hour of assembly, I could say - The purchase of a desk for a friend is over.
The result can be seen in the picture, the desk looks nice, but I'm with a wet shirt, not a very nice sight 😂

This non-IKEA table gave me a bit of trouble when assembling, but I didn't have to take it apart and reassemble it (as I did with my friend), following and analyzing the instructions, I succeeded on the first try.

What do I see in this photo....? A collection of fridge magnets!! Haha

Even the easiest piece of furniture can give a few headaches or drawers placed in the wrong way 😆
Luckily, instructors exist! ;)
