I was asked to make the handkerchief for my granddaughter's baptism, so I went to buy a piece of white fabric and a lace of the same color. This last one was a challenge because I couldn't get it completely white, so I decided to unpick a purple one. Without a doubt, this part was the one that took me the longest, but I made it with love for my little girl.

Elaboration:
- I unstitched the lace and removed the purple trim, because for baptism the scarf has to be all white, which symbolizes purity and innocence.
- This scarf was to be put on the girl's head, so I used that as a guide to measure and make it a good size. Therefore, I cut a rectangle of 20 centimeters by 30 centimeters.
- Then I folded the edges of one centimeter on the right side of the fabric and ironed it.
- Then I started to place the lace helping me with the pins and I made some pins and then I sewed in zing - zag. I have to tell you that it was a little difficult to turn the corners, I did it very slowly and carefully, as you can see in the photo it was very nice.

Elaboración:
- Descosí el encajé y le quité el adorno morado, pues ara bautizo el pañuelo tiene que ser todo blanco, lo cual simboliza la pureza e inocencia.
- Este pañuelo era para ponérselo a la niña en la cabeza, así que por ahí me guié para medir y hacerlo de buen tamaño. Por tanto, corté un rectángulo de 20 centímetros por 30 centímetros.
- Luego le doble las orillas de un centímetro por el derecho de la tela y lo planché.
- Después empecé a colocar el encaje ayudándome con los alfileres y les hice unas pincitas y luego cosí en zing - zag. Les cuento que me costó un poco dar la vuelta en las esquinas, lo hice muy lentamente y con mucho cuidado, como pueden ver en la foto me quedó muy bonito.
El pañuelo es un elemento imprescindible para el bautizo, también conocido como vela o cirio bautismal. Con él se le cubre la cabecita al bebé una vez se ha derramado el agua bendita.
