This is about to be a good story time.hi and welcome to another episode of what did Doreen make?. I do not know if you remember but I made a romper months ago for a client.
She and I go to the same gym. We had this event at my gym ‘a karaoke’ on a normal basis i am not one to attend events, please dont judge i just love staying home, but i did attend this one and it is safe to say i was at the right place at the right time
One of the attendees saw her in it and told her it looked pretty and she said I made it and that is how my conversation with my new client started.
We talked about a lot of things but finally landed on this and she said how she loved the unique look of the shorts and would like to get one for herself.
I also asked what color would you like and do you want less ruffles or more.
We finally agreed on a few modifications and some tweaks in the design.
She sent her measurement the next week and I got started with making her very own ‘star’ short. Yep i named it the star short
The original design of the short was in orange but for her own she picked lemon color and i suggested adding black as a line at the end and at the beginning t balance up the design and she agreed so here goes our pretty process
A lot of crocheters use ribbed stitches for waistbands but I prefer using front post and back post double crochet stitches, it has just been unique since I first learnt the stitch and I just stuck to it since then except the design does not permit it. I just love how the stitch looks on projects
But the part that felt good and a bit draining was the ruffles , i had a whole lot of things on my mind first thing was ‘this is definitely going to look so good once i finish making each side of the short’ and then there was ‘when is this going to end, it feels like i am not making any progress at all’ and then there was ‘i should just calm down i have done bigger projects i will definitely finish this’
I have said this many times plain projects get me bored easily and I start devicing smart ways to stay engaged especially if it is not a personal project like this one. But in the end it was completed.
And I took a long nap after hours of work. I sent her pictures and she loved it so much, made all my tiredness go away in a split second
I hope you like it too
The supplies that I used in making this
