Hi there, as a friend will say “Welcome to my YouTube channel” 😅😅 anyways let's get straight it. I had a lovely day and I'm certain you also did as well.

On today's episode of “what did Doreen make” I am most certainly delighted to bring to your eyes this lovely Emdhee's Vogue custom piece the Nonoh Top.

At least that's how I think I'll sound if I was making a short for my YouTube channel. The previous post I made had a few sentences where I made mention of the uyo fashion week and the collaborations my team and I had towards it.

For most of you that don't know I own a business “Emdhee's Vogue” what I do for now is make crochet outfits. Either custom made for clients. Or with inspos from clients or our custom pieces like this one I'm about to show you.

A few collaborations were put in place for the Uyo Fashion Week Show [day 2] and this is one of the pieces. Custom made for my brand ambassador and named after her as well.

A whole lot of things came into consideration when we make making this piece. Her comfort most especially. So instead of going with the mesh all over we dud a corset cup and then the mesh for the body. Didn't go too far from the original design.

IMG_4430.JPG

We had so much fun making this top and the easy part. I'm not even going to lie was making the base. After that the world had a mind of its own.

IMG_4387.JPG

It was our first time doing flower patches so as expected it did take a while to get a hang of the pattern and believe me the hours spent trying to master the pattern was instantly worth the wait.

IMG_4464.JPG

We made a lot of patches actually I think we had 3 left after the fit was done. We did that on purpose just to be safe actually. And a little advice when making fits with patches attach the latches on the body size you made the fits for.

IMG_4634.JPG

We almost made this mistake. My ambassador is a size 6 and we almost attached the patches om a size 8 mannequin which would have made the design too much on a size 6 model I'm glad she came through before that huge flop happened.

IMG_4635.JPG

Basically we attached the patches to their positions with a stitch marker first then went on the sew it on after we took it off the model and put it on the mannequin.

IMG_4633.JPG

After the patches were put on all we had to do was trim lose ends and then hide few yarns. Fun fact yeah. This was done hours before the show.

IMG_4636.JPG

So once it was done. Myself and my assistant had to move to the makeup studio where the model was already and we got her dressed for the event.

I'm happy I got to make this piece for her. It was really beautiful and all I can say is yeahhhhhhh I made that!!!

Things I used to make this squares and patterns for the skirt :
4.0 mm hook for bra cup and mesh
4.0mm hook for two flower patches
5.0mm for other flower patches
Stitch markers
5 40g yarns [ baby pink and rose pink ]
Scissors
Measurement tape

Ps: these pictures belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile device.
