I Finally got an order to make this unique hat again. This is the Odumodublvck signature ruffle hat. For those of you that don't know this trend started when a popular Nigerian artist started wearing this hat.
It's a normal ruffle hat design but it is made in the signature colors used on the hats in the traditional attire of igbo men and some parts of ibibio culture too also for the men.
This artist used these colors and arrangements too to make his custom ruffle hat and people name it the odumodublvck hat since he was the first to wear it and it also got popular and is still a trend because of him.
Last year this hat was seen almost everywhere on the roads, in a hug, in schools, in parties literally everywhere especially at themed parties and I myself made a handful of the design which was a lot of I wanna count.
The odumodublvck hat is a ruffle hat that almost looks like a bucket hat because of how unnoticeable the ruffles appear and when making this design for women at least the
ones that I have made they always order theirs with huge and very thick ruffles to give it a more feminine look since the design is originally made for the male audience.
Anyways I got an order for it. This particular client wanted to wear it to a party
[which is kind of normal since almost all the orders I get for this hat are always to complete certain party looks] anyways he went on to state how he thought it'll go well with the whole outfit and that's why he reached out to me. First off I was feeling happy for a lot of reasons.
Firstly I have been trying to get this client or at the time a prospective client to order from me for a while so the fact that he reached out to order something felt like a really really good thing. Secondly the last time I made this particular design of hat was in January so it felt good doing it again at least one more time.
After processing the order I went straight to shopping for things and I got to work later in the evening when I got home. And I saw a movie while I was at it. Actually when I'm crocheting I see a whole lot of movies especially if it's a big project I'll complete the series and watch loads of anime.
Back to the hat yeah since I've not made it in a while I actually made a mistake when I was making the red part on the body and I had to frog like four or five rows before I could start on the white.
Trying out something after a long time always has its own consequences. But I finished it up and went straight to the ruffle and boom we have a pretty looking hat.
Things I used to make this hat:
4.0mm hook
3 40g yarns [white, black and pepper red]
Stitch markers
Scissors
Measurement tape
