Don't get me wrong though it's fun to try out new things but then this particular new thing scared me a bit.
For those of you that have never seen my post before. Hi, I'm Doreen. I'm a crocheter and I get hired to duplicate crochet designs for different types of people.
Back to this yeah, this order was a bit different but it's still a process we are familiar with. A crocheted hit me up last week, saying she had an order from a distributor and quite frankly she had a lot on her plate and was hoping she would hire me to finish up the work for her.
I asked for the delivery date, size and all the things I needed to be sure of before accepting the offer.
Two days after she texted me she made payment and sent me yarn that I'll be working with. I went straight to work immediately because I was bored and I needed to get my hands on something new.
It was two skirts size 8 and a size 12. I gave the size 8 to my apprentice to work on while I did the size 12.
Plus I'll tell you the bitter truth a lot of artists forget to mention. When working a big project or a somewhat plain project, it gets boring in the middle but then you just have to keep going till the vibe gets back to you and yes this happened to me while I was working on this.
If you have seen my prev posts you'll know I'm a Color switching-somewhat difficult pattern lover of crochet which is a funny name now that's I think of it but yeah that's me so plain projects easily bore me.
I just Continued till it returned and I got back on track
Anyways I made myself get the vibe back and I got to work which is easier said than done. I finished up the skirt and tried it on my mannequin to see if it was okay and it looked just gorgeous on it.
Sent her the pictures and she loved it so that's a good thing for my brand.
It'll be off for delivery by tomorrow and I can't wait to wrap it up for her.
things I used to make it:
*4.0mm hook
*10 40g balls of yarn
*scissors
*stitch markers
*measurement tape
Ps: these pictures belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile device.
