Hello hello and welcome to another episode of what did Doreen make,I hope you had a wonderful day, I seriously can't wait to show you today's work.
A few weeks ago I made my first crochet sock. It did come out good and it felt so good and comfy. It was cold so it was a reasonable addition to my collection. so this time i went further and made another pair. I had gradients of green left over from my previous cat eared beanie so I thought to myself what better time to use it than right now. It was milk cotton yarn so more comfort for my tiny lil feet [err maybe not so tiny and little]
This time it was easier to follow the pattern, maybe because it's my second time or I got more interested I do not know but something in me was getting and understanding quicker than last time
There were things I did differently with this one though. I used more colors, the more the merrier honestly. I worked with different plys of yarn,4ply and 5ply. And lastly the ankle was made shorter than the previous
I did work on both pairs of socks simultaneously. I wanted to get equal or almost equal measurements for each of the shades of green I used. So both ends of the yarn were connected to each of the pairs.
I must admit. I did fall in love with this sc stitch. It's the one used for amigurumi, this yarn and stitch just made it look so pretty and fluffy honestly.
I kept trying it on since the yarn was shrinking and looked small to tge eyes. I knew it was my size but the yarn was playing tricks on me so gradually putting it on my feet was the safest option.
Along the way I found this sock designs that have ruffles on the ankle I was so close to doing one of those and then remembered I needed more coverage so I left it and stayed on track[I'm making it next time surely]
The main reason I got into making sock designs is that I always found it fascinating but never really knew how to make one or even start it. I knew that yes i willuse this Stitch, But how do I use it and where do I place the stitch? That knowledge was not something I had. I browsed ton of inspo pics on Pinterest then ran to my 24/7 life saver “YouTube” and I got into it.
Learning new patterns is something I adoree and something that will brighten up my day at any point in time especially if I get it on my first Try.
If I work on any sock project soon it is definitely going g to be the one with ruffles at the ankle.
The supplies that I used in making this
4.0mm hook
Stitch markers
5 50 cotton yarn [4ply and 5ply]
Scissors
Measurement Tape
