Hello, Beautiful People of the Amazing community..
How are you doing today? As we all know many people officially begin work today but for me, I want to quickly do a recap of some of the outfits I made for last year, share my goals, struggles and what I hope to achieve as a designer for this year.
Joining the #needleworkcommunity was the best thing that ever happened to me as I learned a lot from many designers, shared my project, joined in the contest and had fun while at it.
I think I made so many colorful outfits last year and made so many stylish design, I was too busy to join the last contest about the #yearendchallenge, however I wouldn't fail to acknowledge how the needlework has impacted my life so much.
Talking about @kattycrochet she is one woman I admire so much as every week she never failed to share beautiful crochet projects, I took my time to follow most of her tutorial from start to finish, she made various projects like key holder, tote bags, table mat and so on and I truly admire her a lot.
@kesityu.fashion on the hand shared so many recycled project, how she explored different fabrics, taught us how to dye a fabrics and how she made different project in different countries she traveled to.
@crosheille my wonderful mama, also shared beautiful project how can I forget that denim necklace? And all the beautiful contest she made us join, of all the contest i joined last year, #needleworkyourpet was still my favourite, I loved every step of that project, sadly my shadow died last year December and it hurt badly. However looking at the fun memories I created with my dog made me felt alive again.
@wongi too was another source of inspiration for me, how she shred her crochet journey with different yarns, and made so many unique piece.
I am thankful to all of you and others who graced the community with their beautiful projects.
Last year, I can proudly say I accomplished a lot, I made different outfit and I think I shared most of my projects here with the community.
The stories behind each of the projects are heart warming, I wouldn't write an epistle on them.
This one here was the one I made for a client's mother after she saw how beautiful the one I made for her daughter was, she ended up bringing hers to me.
This one is for the daughter, initially, the daughter said I was too expensive and wanted to use me for only timeless occasions until one of her designer spoitl her cloth, she ended up running back to me to make her a dress for her sister's wedding.
This tye dye was for pregnant friend who wanted me to make something fancy and comfy for her within minutes and I love this project so much.
This is the most stylish outfit I made in 2023, a stylish wrapper and top, this project brought in so many clients.
This was for a very good friend and client of mine who wanted to rock a black dress for thanksgiving Sunday and the tassles made the dress gorgeous.
This one was for me, I made it to prove to a client that fashion can be anything you want it to be, a client brought in a picture of what she wanted but her fabric wasn't enough, so I convinced her that I could make do with what was on ground however she felt it wasn't going to come out nicely, so I made exact style for myself to prove her wrong and after this outfit she came back running to me.
This is a birthday dress for a client and I had a little struggle making the flounce, however the outcome made me forget the stress while making the dress.
This was my very first project in 2023, this dress was mine and I love how beautiful the project turened out.
When I look back on most of the project I did in 2023 I can't help but smile because I truly grew in so little time, these projects weren't free from hassles, some I pricked my finger with needles, some I started all over from the scratch after I've gone far, while some were just easy peasy and so on.
One thing I achieved last year was being on my toe, I love how I was focused on any project I had in mind and that helped me a lot.
I made sure I didn't leave any project pending before jumping to the next one and that's a kudos for me.
I was able to equip my fashion store with some instrument that will assist my job like getting a steaming iron, I have just two mannequins, this year I hope to buy more mannequins this year to sample many of my projects.
For this year, if I have enough money, I will be going to a fashion school to upgrade my fashion skill and build my brand even better, I hope to deliver even more beautiful projects to you all and I hope you reach my goals for 2024.
Thank you to all who made 2023 a beautiful year for me here in this community and thanks to the entire needle work team for their relentless effort here on the community, this is one community I love so much as we are like one big family.
