Hello everyone, I’m so excited to share the newest addition to my beach collection; The Danielle Top. Today, I want to share with you all what I went through to achieve this final result.
Some weeks ago, I tried coming up with a floral top so I could add to my beach collection but it went so wrong. Everything about the top wasn’t how I wanted it. From the arrangement of flowers to the straps of the top. I didn’t like the outcome so I was kind of devastated. I tried so many ways to redecorate the top but none of them was what I wanted. So I just had to redo it.
I had so many things to do too so at a point, I kind of gave up on the top. It just stayed on my desk for weeks and then I remembered that one of the things I said I was going to do this year is to make sure I finish everything I start. And if anything, I also have no plans of piling my crochet projects this year so I made up my mind to just try my best to finish it.
For the new design, I decided to name is after @bipolar97 because I got the inspiration from her personality and genuineness. She’s very colourful in personality which matches the colourful flowers, and genuine at heart which matches the white body of the top. It took about two days to redo the design. I removed the flowers from the top and then redesigned it. Another thing I realized was that, there is a difference between what you see when the project is lying down and what you see when the project has been worn.
And this was a white top so I couldn’t just wear it anyhow because of how quick it could get dirty.
I tried a couple of designs and after they all wasn’t what I expected, I went with the upper floral design where the flowers sit right at the upper part of the top.

I realized that the straps of the top were also having an effect on it so I decided to change it. Instead of going with the normal design, I changed it to make more like around neck. Apart from the fact that I like that design better, I also wanted to be on a safer side.

Although I initially stated that the main reason why I went back to working on this stop was because I wanted to finish it, the other reason was this community. I know how hard it is when you get to that point where you feel like there’s no bone of creativity in you so you just give up. So this is me showing you all my work so you don’t give up.
I hope this inspires a fellow needleworker out there. No matter what happens, never give up on a project. Just keep going till you reach your desired results.
Thank you for your time.
