Interesting encounter with Apple. I think it illustrates the distinction between good customer service and good customer policy. Great to get someone on the line that can communicate clearly and understand your problem - good customer service. Even better to have customer policies in place that allow them to do something to SOLVE your problem.

Indeed, it feels good to be able to communicate with the person on the other end and get some answers, or solve your problem. It terrifies me to know there are companies where customer support is just a simple joke as those handling it don't even speak English. It's terrible.
