I feel privileged to live amidst nature's splendor, where I'm frequently visited by delightful flying friends – birds, butterflies, grasshoppers, and other tiny wonders.
Mornings in my home are a symphony of nature's sounds. Birds chirping by my window and squirrels chattering are my usual wake-up calls. This morning was no exception. As I was at the kitchen preparing breakfast, I looked out the windows and saw this young squirrel leaping effortlessly along the fence, its agile movements a joy to behold. I couldn't help but smile at the sight, and with that, I felt refreshed and inspired to start off the day!
As I made my way to the office, little did I know that I would be met with another interesting sight. I got to the office, and made to unlock the door, but was greeted by this unexpected visitor - "Green mantid or Preying Mantis", perched beside the keyhole, its emerald green color adding beauty and life to the door's brown hues.
I couldn't help but break a warming smile as I envisaged a pleasant day ahead.
I stood for a while, contemplating on how best to open the door without alerting this little friend. So with all gentleness, I unlocked the door and turned it open. Stepped in and then grabbed my phone to capture shots of it.
While doing so, I was struck by the calm demeanor of the mantis. Despite the clicking sound of the keyhole as the door was being unlocked plus the movement, it remained still, frozen in place, with no care of the noise happening around it.
Shots taken, I set out to grind the day and by the time I stepped out again, it was gone. I actually wished it were still there. 😅
Sitting back on my work desk, I couldn't help but muse over my brief encounter with the mantis. It's calmness even during the unlocking of the door was indeed a marvel and a great lesson. It reinforced the idea that one can actually discover peace and calm even amidst the chaos and noise of their surroundings. Also, it was a clear reminder that even in unexpected places, beauty and wonder can be found! Nature is indeed a wonder! 😂
