Rewarding mediocrity promotes mediocrity and I don't agree with it.

Not sure when idea arrived that more than one comes first, or all be placed on the pedestal it is wrong, hurtful to those who put in great effort.
I agree, it's not a good way to go but it seems that's the way society is leaning currently. Mediocrity.
