Fountain pens are awesome! I didn't realize they made some with 14k tips. Very cool!

        14k is a very popular option. Some come in 18k too. Flex nibs that need even more softness, for example. But purer than 18k isn't common. I'd guess that would become too soft and be easier to bend and break the nib.
