Cashless society is an amazing thing if you live in an ideal state with the ideal economy. But look at the world and count "ideal" states. Quite few and no guarantee they will stay nice forever. The level of democracy keeps falling in the world in the last decade so the world becomes less free, more authoritarian, more corrupt. When they turn our money in digits, they can manipulate these digits as they want. If they want people to be unable to buy foreign currencies, they will easily do it. If a crisis, inflation, negative money reform, people will start losing their money. Your money should be with you only with nobody's hands in your piggy bank.

Crypto is a way to escape this trap.
